The only supplements that I have noticed that have given me positive results are the following:

K2 - stronger teeth evidenced by x-ray.
Magnesium - muscle twitching gone.
Citrulline - libido up.
Creatine - took it along time ago in my upper twenties and and gained 15 pounds and ~10% increase in strength.

Everything else, nothing.

ETA: this was moved from the OT to the health/fitness board. I didn't even know TD had a health and fitness board. lol

5-HTP
Vitamin D
Probiotics (you have to kind of find the one that works for you)

I take more daily but those for sure work. I think some of the others may be more mental (but the placebo effect is real).

I HOPE my cortisol supplements work.

Zinc really does shorten colds & reduce severity, IMO. That’s been a very recent experience for me.

Ginko Biloba seems to help my memory a bit. Most other vitamins and supplements haven’t made a noticeable difference.

Hmm, I have to check this out. "precursor as well as a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitter serotonin." Serotonin is the neurotransmitter that gives you that long lasting satiated feeling.

Vitamin D

I probably need to be more consistent with this especially during the winter.

Never take them. I guess my microflora is healthy.

Fish Oil makes a noticeable difference in my neck/back pain due to inflammation. I ran out recently and went 7-10 days without it and my spine & muscles were wrecked till I could get back on track.

Magnesium Glycinate is great for muscle tension/pain. It also has an anti-anxiety effect.

Vitamin D, but I’m also Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 deficient due to Gastro issues.

There a lot of studies that show zinc cutting down viral loads and making it easier to fight viruses. The mechanism is the zinc ion in the cytoplasm interrupts mRNA polymerase and subsequent viral transcription. The issue is however the cell cytoplasm needs to be slightly more basic to create a pH gradient so the zinc ion will permeate the cell membrane. Sometime that gradient is created naturally or you can create that gradient with medications like HCQ.

I would suggest you also look into Quercetin with bromelain..

I have found this to be helpful

Ashwaganda Root. Lowered cortisol levels which allows testosterone levels to come up. Don’t know exact method but doctor recommended. He said of all the bs supplements, this one works. He studied it pretty hard. Takes about 2 months to show.

Turmeric Reduces my knee pain. Does nothing for my neck. Again takes a while to work.

Magnesium helps me rest better at night.

Potassium lowered BP and stopped palpitations. Most people are Potassium deficient.

All of these were recommended by a doctor.
