Costco usually has good deals on Adidias basketball/gym shorts in different colors .. I usually buy two or three pairs every so often and they last forever .

One thing i forgot to mention about the Costco Adidas shorts - or whatever shorts you are looking at.. seems trivial but i find it to be important- living in Asia as i do, i have to have shorts that have a quality zipper on the pockets.. often im walking around the city with my passport and wallet and things i just can’t afford to lose- or at the gym or pickleball or whatever - they gotta be zippered in .. I average over 12k steps per day, so a lot of walking and a good zippered pocket helps keep your stuff secure.. could apply to any city but esp in a foreign land .

Last time I was at the gym, there was a dude on the treadmill wearing compression shorts--and compression shorts only.

The CRZ Yoga shorts from Amazon are just as comfortable, a fraction of the cost, and more durable.

The best ones going these days are the Fabletics 4 way stretch athletic moisture wicking shorts with pockets. Typically 5-7" inseam. These are lined with compression type shorts and a side pocket.

Glad you asked. I have 10 pairs but only three that I like, and they no longer make the ones I like.
Many of them, even from major brands, fit like hell. The people who designed them should be sentenced to wear them forever.

I have three pairs of these in the 7in length. They’re nice. I was also gifted two pairs of I think 10 thousand brand shorts last Christmas, I like them as well.

I have bespoke shorts from my Savile Row tailor, it’s not just vanity my thigh to waist ratio prohibits the use of of anything else ( not that I would wear anything off the rack a poor might have access to)
