What goals did you accomplish this year?

I started regularly lifting again back in June

Up 10 lbs or so, much stronger, and certainly feeling way better

But my best accomplishment in 2019 was simply getting back to a mindset where going too long without working out makes me feel like shite. I made it a lifestyle this year.

How’d your 2019 go?

Bought weights, a squat rack and rowing machine. Have worked out at least twice a week most weeks. My goal was 3-4 x a week. Something to work on in the coming year.

Dropped 30lbs since January
Run about 3-4 miles 5-6 days a week and got pretty addicted

It has been a good year. Haven’t been in this good of shape since high school.

Started the year weighing 245. Worked out religiously, but have always had the mindset since I workout, I can eat whatever I want.

I had enough in March after I had a clinical rotation at home and ate like shite all month. I hired a personal trainer/ coach in April and I’m since cut down a great amount of body fat %. Weighing 232 as of this morning.

Hoping to do a physique comp at the towards the end of 2020

Started the year at around 190 (probably 20 to 25% bf), now down to around 165 or 170 and 12 to 17% bf. Quit lifting as much as I used to, took up running...ran my first 10k in April and will be knocking out my first half this weekend. Been a solid year.

Started at 275. Goal was to get to 245. I got to 246. Was at the end of a long "cut" and felt like shite so I backed off an went into maintenance through Jan 1.

Set 1rm PR's on deadlift and farmers walk. Rep PR on squats because I did 5's most of the year.

I've stayed in the 195-200 range all year just looking to gain muscle and lose fat, so I don't have a ton of weight loss goals. That said, I definitely have more ab definition than I did at the beginning of the year, so I feel that's a win.

what is the standard for 1RM farmers walk?

distance? time? weight? all of the above?

It depends. Personally, I always do it in the street outside my home, so I'm looking at distance and weight mainly.

I did 250 a hand for longer than I've ever done it, and did 280 a hand, which I've never done before. If it was a competition setting with more standardized formats, I'm sure there's a more direct formula.

It sort of depends on what you're training for, but there is flexibility. I just sort of define PR as something I've never done before.

I don't have teenage kids, nor do I have any boys (2 girls), but my 16 year old nephew, who plays HS basketball, laughed off a challenge of 1 on 1 basketball

after I beat him 15-1, 15-2, 15-2...he doesn't want to play his old uncle anymore

feels good man
