Also, the big payoff isn't speed, it's recovery. You're always only going to be as fast as you've trained to be, the shoe let's you sustain it just a bit longer. I think people wrongly focus on the speed of the Nike shoes.

A good example of the marketing and perpetuation of the speed myth is when people were questioning whether or not Des qualifies for Tokyo wearing the Next. When the real statement should have been Des qualifies wearing literally any other marathon shoe. That's expert marketing right there.

Vaporfly Next% V2 incoming. Will feature a knit upper that appears more similar to AtomKnit found on the AlphaFly. More toe box volume too.

got some new balance kaymin fresh foams during tax free weekend. been a pleasant shoe. doesn't have the build of the 1080 which i just retired, but cushion has been really great for some pavement pounding.

like them a lot more than my brooks anthems.

You get the V1 or V2? Saw the V1 for good price online and thinking about pulling the trigger.

v1 i'm assuming because they were pretty cheap.

i think they only came out with the v2 for a trail version and not the road version.

i think it'd be fine for a light trail shoe, but i kick too many stumps and rocks in my normal haunts for a light rubber toe protection that's on the kaymin trail.

Got bored the other day and ordered a pair of Endorphine Speed to try. Should be here tomorrow.

For those interested, eastbay has endorphin speed and shift WITHOUT a discount exclusion.

They recently had a 25% off coupon, which I’m sure will return soon.

I was going to pick up the speed, but my size was out of stock.

Nice. People fawn over them...I wouldn’t mind getting a pair in the black and gold colorway but no room/need in my rotation currently.

Funny you posted that picture.

My wife just surprised me with them and she really supports my running hobby ( race fees, travel, gear ) but really does not know much about it. She got them as my "marathon shoe".

Question for the board-->I know nothing about the Peagsus line, can I train in these? Use them for 5K/10K races or are they an everyday shoe?

I bought them with the idea they would be an everyday running shoe. They’re a little heavy for racing at about 10.5 ounces. I haven’t run in mine yet but when I tried them on, they honestly felt lighter than my Zoom Fly 3s which are just under 9 ounces.

Thanks Quail and that is some good news. I can run around my neighborhood and explain to my wife I STILL need some racing shoes. Win-Win haha.

I have them in my rotation and do enjoy the ride. I wouldn't take mine out longer than 7 or 8 miles but they are good for some tempo runs.

Retired my pair of NB Propel v1 today after 365 miles. Opted for a pair if Beacon 3’s over Propel 2, as a daily. The Beacon v1 is one of my favorite shoes ever.

If NB release some better colors for the Beacon V3, might be my next shoe. Hearing the V3 is good and pretty similar to the Hoka Rincon except with a bit more bounce.

Got some Altra Torin’s today. They definitely feel different than my other shoes. I’ll take them out tomorrow and put some miles on them. Interesting to see if these zero drop shows have any impact on some of my nagging issues like IT Band.

Really like the Endorphine Speed. They feel very much like the ZF3 but i find the midsole to be better. They are more breathable but most importantly that Mutant colorway is just amazing.

Trying to decide between Cliftons and Rincons. I’ll probably buy last years model in either to save alittle money.

I currently run in brooks, but want more cushion and my feet have grown some or something because the shoes are too small now and hurting my toes
