First impressions of the Mizuno Wave Inspire- they are loud. Noticeably louder than the Adrenaline's I'm used to. I feel like I'm a Clydesdale walking on pavement. Is it because of the plate?

Besides the sound I find them to be serviceable. I don't know if I'd buy them again versus Brooks as an everyday trainer but I'm glad I'm giving them a shot.

I had the Wave Inspire 15’s and agree they are loud. Likely because the foam is on the minimal side, firm, and lots of rubber.

Got em. 301 dollars, lol. So dumb. The app was all like CONGRATULATIONS! And I'm just sitting here feeling like an a-hole for spending 300 bones on a pair of fricking spite shoes to wear in front of the local running store's owner.

Congrats I guess Good news is they seem to be relatively durable. Guy on Instagram just rolled 250 miles on a pair.

Honestly, I expect the zoom fly turbo alpha or whatever nonsense to be a better and more versatile shoe. I don’t think you missed out RS.

ETA: Prime sizes went out of stock in 15 seconds.

There are some local stores getting allocations. The Running Lab (store in Michigan I’ve bought from) posted they will accept phone orders. Got this email from them today:
quote:

The new colorway, dubbed the "Olympic colorway", will release at Running Lab on 8/27

- Phone/In-store orders only starting at 9am EST on 8/27.
- Please Do not call the store asking to make order early.
- Billing address must match shipping to guard against fraud if you are not local.
- We have limited phone lines at the store so you may get a busy signal, keep trying.
- All sizes we will receive in Men's and Women's are currently represented on the website.

Probably some others doing the same. Just tough to find an LRS that carried Nike.

By the by, y'all seen the propel v2. This shoe looks like a bad bitch, and it's priced at $100.

Yup. Consensus is it’s a good shoe not a great shoe but at $100 is well worth price of admission. Reviews say NB firmed up the FuelCell compared to the Propel V1 so the V2 doesn’t feel as mushy and is capable of some faster pace running. Good all arounder that can probably go 500+ miles.

Love the V1 and have about 350 on em. I'll grab the V2 at some point I'd imagine. The V1 was great.

It’s amazing how Nike has transitioned the hypebeast model for running shoes. Only other shoes that sell this way are Jordan’s and Yeezy’s.

Also hard to say just how good or how much better the Alpha is over the N% and other competitors bc the Alpha is hard to get and haven’t been any races. Comparison reviews online are sparse.

In other news, the Brooks Hyperion Elite 2 is about to drop. Looks pretty good and seems like the new midsole material makes it a much much better shoe.

I am fine getting the N% if available also. Looks like those are also coming out in a new color in a couple of weeks.

Has it ever been determined at what paces the N% and plated shoes in general work best at? Even though I own the 4%, N% and ZFFK, I was always under the impression that you needed to be faster than I to get benefit from them. And plus the plate is made for the longevity of the Marathon, right? I’ve never run a Marathon either.

I will say I love them all (plated) and have run all of my PR’s in them, but I take pause when I see a dude with a gut running a 30 min 5K with a pair of 4% on. I’d say they (Nike) indeed nailed the marketing.

Fairly certain it’s not speed specific. Ultimately it’s the Runner’s efficiency that matters/dictates pace. The shoes are designed to help runners be more efficient by providing some leverage and keeping strain off of your leg muscles toward the end of a hard effort. Theoretically, plated shoes should provide a benefit to all runners at all paces.

i believe it's meant to benefit you the longer you go up to a marathon.
