If you want (nearly) guaranteed comfort, go Clifton. I have the Rincon and love it, but the fit is narrow and can cause issues while breaking in. Also, Clifton will last longer due to more rubber on the outsole.

Good to know about the ribbon being narrow, my issue now is with the Brooks being to narrow and my pinkie toe gets pushed in under my other toe. I might also checkout the bondi, but I think it might be too much cushion for me

If you can try the Hoka’s on before buying, I’d recommend it. Hoka tends to run narrow, especially compared to brooks. If you’re looking for cushion, width, and durability I’d say to look at the New Balance 1080v10. Saucony Ride 13 could be a good option too.

Bondi, IMO is too much mushy cushion. Go Clifton for sure.
Also look at nb 1080v10, Nike infinity run and Saucony Triumph (17 is on clearance as 18 just came out).

Yea, I tried several pairs of hokas on in the stores. I liked the Clifton 7s the most, but I’m probably going to buy Clifton 6s to save alittle bit. They seemed to be wider in the toe box than my Brooks so I shouldn’t have any issues

Yeah you’re good then. Go Clifton 6 for sure. The 7 was just a change to the upper. Mid soles are the same.
Got myself another pair of shoes. Even though they’re technically running shoes, using these for casual wear. They look so damn good and the upper is amazing. For anyone who does enjoy running in UltraBoosts or if you just want a sweet pair of shoes to knock around in, check the UltraBoost PB out. They’re popping up on sale all over. Got these on Amazon for $104. Any UltraBoost for around $100 or less is a steal for a casual shoe.

clifton is good for recovery/long days. plenty of cushion.
rincon is great if you want to push the pace.
if you can, i suggest getting both.

I’m going to keep my Brooks revels for my speed days (the narrow toe box doesn’t seem to bother me on short runs), they only have about 150 miles on them. So I’ll probably get the cliftons to wear for my long runs

Went to REI today and bought a pair of Bondi 6s. After I tried them on and the Clifton 7s, the bondis just felt so much more cushiony and bouncy. I am going to run 4 miles in the morning with them. Will report back

Currently rotate between brooks adrenaline which where the sole meets the show that lip rubs = blisters right on my heal. Hoka Rincon are comfortable and seem to run narrow like a few others have mentioned which is a PIA as well. Oh well!

Won lottery at local Houston running store for retail price Next%.
My new coach supported them as my race shoes but said exactly what BRM preaches ...you won't run faster than you train.

Congrats! Seems like a great marathon shoe. There is a guy on Instagram that has 280 miles on a pair. Outsole has seen better days but he claims they still feel good.
In other shoe news: for any fans of the Razor 3, the Razor 3+ should be coming out soon. It’s a Razor 3 with a revised upper and most importantly no stupid words printed across the top. They’re finally listening to consumers.
Also New Balance FuelCell RC Elite dropping 9/1

Keep us posted. I’ve been curious about Altra
Been wearing these on my Sunday recovery run of 6 miles at the local high school track. Definitely different and I'm still getting used to them. They are engaging different muscles I think than my standard drop shoes. I like them on recovery day, not sure I want to put 13 miles on them yet.

Anyone used Brooks Transmit? I've used Ravenna, Adrenaline, and some other Brooks over the years. Just ordered a pair last night and they should be here tomorrow.

So after 3 runs in my hoka bondi 6s, I’ve developed a blister on my right big toe, and the full length of my left arch. I’ve never really had blistered before even with my too small Brooks. Not sure if it is something that I’ll adjust to or if I need to return the shoes

I think it’s common in Hoka’s. Something about the design of the footbed. I think the footbed sits down in the sole a bit and Hoka’s tend to run narrow so the upper edge/lip of the sole can cause blistering. Should go away, but try swapping the insoles to see if that helps any.

I passed up a pair of the Ghost 12s for $75 at an Academy in Arkansas last week and ended up going with a pair of Nike golf shoes instead. Kind of regretting not getting both now

Can one recommend a good insole for brooks adrenaline? The top back of it has a little lip on it and it rubs causing a blister.

nice run in the carbon x this morning.
i've done long and tempo runs in them. excellent for pushing the pace.
i actually prefer them to the rincon...more cushion and they really push you forward.
i will stick with the vaporfly for racing, but these are excellent if you want a carbon plate to do workouts in.
