I really miss Lifetime as well, but I just can’t justify the expense when I’m the only one going. Maybe when the grandkid gets older…..

Lifetime isn't a gym, it's a lifestyle where you go to pick up married chicks. My ex-wife threatened me when I considered switching.

I pay $50 at a local, non chain. It's $10 more than usual because I have 24 hour access, including when the gym is closed on holidays. Three squat racks, 2 DL platforms, but they're out of chalk all the time (a bunch of other stuff too, but that's what I care about.) Dumbbells go to 150.

You'd think it's a meathead gym, but there are more middle aged women working with trainers in groups, etc., than you would suspect. Don't necessarily be afraid of gyms in industrial parks, basically, they might offer something your wife would like.

I got a deal.

Edit - Looked it up - $21.65 for entire year. I am never going to be able to join another gym :(

I am a member at amp fitness in the colonnade which is about 3min from lifetime and it’s $10/m. It’s the old golds gym and had plenty of equipment. It is designed for the younger crowd but it’s cheap and has everything I need. Plus there aren’t to many young people up at 4:30am. I never go in the afternoons because it’s way to many people.

Club 4 here in Lake Charles, basic membership, $13/mo. Does not include 24 hour access or child care. But I don't need either of those options.

You might have just saved the day.

$10/month is crazy cheap and it's closer to my house.

I guess it's worth mentioning I only have iFit because we've invested over a few years in a fullsquat cage, weights, and dumbell sets. We broke even compared to gym fees in about 3 years.

Share how you got this. The processing fees alone for my 24 Hr membership are more than this.

We joined the OneLife that just opened in McCalla. Early membership was like 73 a month for both of us.

$120/mo for a family YMCA plan. I don't really like working out there because it's crowded, but the kids love the place, so they swim or play and I can get some exercise.

Most days I go to the free gym provided by my wife's employer. She's a teacher and the school system has a health center for employees and souses. Usually when I go, it's me and one or two retirees.

Onelife bought my local gym and it’s like $39/mth. They have everything including 6 cages and deadlift platforms, big turf area for the sled and conditioning stuff - pretty much more than anyone could ever use.

Which is good because the prior owners only had 2 squat racks - which were always taken.

$38 a month.

Gets me 24-7-365 access. There are free weights, machines, and a cardio section with treadmills, stationary bikes, stairclimbers, and Nordic Traks.

There's a protein smoothie bar during staff hours and a very cute blonde who works there on Saturdays.
