Keep at it. A lot motivation in the IRL pic thread from crossfitters. Pretty sure Sabi crossfits now
I don't, but yeah lots of the stuff I do is incorporated into CrossFit, and lots of stuff I incorporate into my routines come from CrossFit YouTube channels and Instagrams.
I don't do the olympic lifts like y'all do and I do want to try.
I wish I looked like you tho, bro!

That skin the cat video looked like it was taken in a CrossFit gym. Rogue 2.0 bar in gram iirc

Yeah, the gym I go to has all that stuff. Rogue and Life Fitness equipment.

Yesterday’s CF workout was a pure strength workout for us..
Warmup/Mobilily
Front Squat Warmups
FSx5
FSx4
FSx3
FSx2
FSx1
Basically working up to a near 1RM, but that’s way too many reps to achieve a true one.
I went..
225x5
245x4
275x3
295x2
315x1
Went to 325 and failed.
..and this was 30 minutes after I ran 2.5 miles.

This is the problem I have with CrossFit. I do alot of CrossFit things, but I have no interest in doing power cleans and snatches (although I do some dumbbell snatches). The stuff I do is similar as in the high intensity rounds and such, but I have no reason to do all those lifts.

what? I love snatches
*no pun intended

Oh, I agree with you, but we do them so seldom it's only a minor complaint. I mean, I may go three weeks without ever doing snatch because I do not go every day. I missed cleans yesterday because I left after warm up due to crowding.

interesting
and you also said y'all never bench? even during strength?
do y'all follow certain programming or is it your own coaches programming?

What’s the problem with doing them?

I have no reason to be doing power cleans as a dude with an office job. Like I said, I incorporate a lot of the circuit training stuff, but I don't want to pay $150 a month to do that stuff.
If you want to, by all means, go for. Just not for me. Neither one of us is right or wrong.

It’s the most efficient way to lift a heavy arse load overhead.
It also trains violent hip extension which is extremely helpful across the board on other lifts and gymnastic movements.

Snatches and cleans are my favorite next to deadlifts. I love learning the complex movements.
lsualum: we definitely go to the same CF gym
I'm usually at the 6pm classes

Yea who would want to burn fat & develop total body coordination & muscular strength, among other things

It is the older you get. The first thing that goes is your explosive strength and that’s the best way to train it as well as being a functional movement to help with everyday lifestyle activities (such as putting the Christmas tree back in the attic).
If you’re adamant against the oly movements then try out Orange Theory.
