Here’s what I did due to the same concern:

2wks FOTH
2wks House of the Rising Buns
Repeat above

Completely understandable. There were parts of it I really liked such as the grip circuit and pendlay rows (mainly because they were new to me). The lack of legs was a killer. Thats why I added dedicated leg workouts that Aaron had posted to IG.

If you're set on a bench program, Benchamin Franklin 2 is the most balanced of the 3 PPSA ones. It has squats and deadlifts on day 1, 4, 7, etc, but no other leg excercises.

That's a great idea, especially since most of the programs use the same general combinations of exercises. There's definitely not enough squats and lower in FOTH and Arm Farm. At least Pool Season has squats twice a week.

Anybody have any other upper/lower focus combos to run like that? I'm intrigued.

I'm back on Pool Season 2. Plan on doing it twice. I had forgotten how horrible that front/side/rear delt giant set is. Will humble you in a hurry

First week of Strongville in the books and I really enjoyed it. (Ok - maybe not the overhead carries so much) It's definitely quite a change of pace after Grasshopper.

Pump city is good program. It’s push pull legs, more bodybuilding style

I still think Pump City was the hardest of the ones I’ve done. The leg day with the RFESS-reverse lunge superset is the most miserable superset in PPSA in my opinion. Like lsu said, it’s a push-pull-legs rotation with full legs days so it’s a lot different than most the other programs. Lots of AMRAP (reps till failure) as well, so probably geared more towards cutting/bodybuilding. I didn’t get great results from it when I ran it but probably because I ran it in the middle of a bulk and was eating alot

I’m waiting till the holidays are over to jump back in. Probably going to roll with Dr Jacked Remastered in January. Absolutely loved the original when I ran in in October

I think I’ve become over reliant on these PPSA programs . Anytime I take a break and go back to a regular split I lose all motivation and end up only working out 2-3 times a week. When I do PPSA I feel like I HAVE to go or the template will be out of wack and I stick to it like glue. And they’re a lot more fun than going in there and doing random shite.

Anyways, started The Return of Dr Jacked today. 4 week 5 day/week program to start the new year. Really excited for it. Haven’t been hitting legs much so I was feeling pretty shaky just from the snatch grip deads.

Just a heads up Aaron released a new program called stronger than a garlic milkshake, sounds lower body focused but haven’t gotten it yet to know.

you would think he would more just because its the largest group I have seen running it, when he asked us not to share we pulled everything down and this board has made him a ton of money which i am happy about because he is a small business and seems to be a good guy and great father which is not a compliment i throw around very often.

im not, i already lined up next 12 months. starting with FOTH and then FOTH2, then arm farm

mainly focusing on building more of an upper body while adding a little strength next year. I am doing arm farm every 3 months throughout and doing all the more bodybuilding ones

2026 i will focus more on strength.

ill prolly still get the new program though

Looks sweet. 3 day/week for 8 weeks. I like the 3 day/week programs for working in more cardio and abs on those off days

thanks Aaron, hope you find time to stick around more this year

saw your post about your son, looks like he has made extreme progress throughout HS.....could you give us a little insight to the programming he was running? was it strictly ppsa?

we understand much of the gains is simply consistency with simple progressive training, nutrition and sleep but if you have any other insights would be awesome as many of us have kids getting close to that age. Also how did you manage the training wiht his mandatory school lifts?

hope 2025 find you and your family and the business unlimited blessings!!!

Fortunately for him I am also the strength coach at his high school. As far as programming he has followed a very similar path to the sports strength plans that we offer on our site, such as Sports Strength & Strong and Fast- he lifts 3 days of the week, every day of the year. He plays sports int he fall and spring (shot put track on off season) Nutrition he tries to eat 200 grams of protein a day as a goal and disciplined about going to bed every night.
