I wondered where the full route went. I never looked at the route. That industrial area is sketchy too haha.

I know they changed up some of the route from 2 years ago as the original starting point was where the shooting took place. They used the same concert area and then directly started from there.

The half was a nice route though.

I ran 3 miles on Saturday, probably do it again today or tomorrow. Then doing the 12k Turkey Trot early Thursday morning through Lake Mead and Hoover Dam.

I ran the philly half this saturday to celebrate my 1 year anniversray from back surgery. Was running 3 miles 3 times a week prior and did 6 miles the week prior.

My wife is a marathoner and she ran with me and kept me at a great pace. Im sore but nothing crazy. Prob will never do it again.

Thanks alot! Here I go.... lol

Went off roading today for the first time in awhile, no phone, no music, no plan. Amazing weather, open spaces. Had to make myself pack it in & head home.

Thanks for the heads up on the LVM. I cant imagine getting there and finding out that was the course. I'd be pissed.

Good runs this weekend guys!

Oh, and I forgot to share my biggest accomplishment in the race Sunday. I consumed a gel and didn't projectile vomit while or after I did it!

I had one at 6 (gel) on Sat, didn’t use the other I had with me. I need to get my hands on some more of those Maurten. Those go down super easy, as advertised.

A nasty cold and then an almost as bad sinus infection knocked me out of running all but once over the last ten days. I am going to try to get five in tomorrow morning, then we will just have to see what happens in the Turkey Day run. I had high hopes for it based on some runs 2 weeks ago, but now I am thinking its going to be a struggle. Hope everyone running races on Thursday has a great time.

Decided to work from home after lunch (perk of my job). Found my motivation in a 3 hour window of no rain. 14 mile tempo run. At 13.1 miles, I was only 34 seconds over my PB for a half. I'm ready to destroy that after this marathon. May have been a bit too hard of a run when I have a decent amount of miles this week, but it got me off the couch.

I've been following the thread, but haven't posted in a while. Enjoy the information and motivation of seeing y'all hit your goals.

Finally got it together to get on Strava and join the group. I'm on week 5 of my marathon plan. Did my weekly strength/speed workout last night. Totaled about 8 miles and I'm feeling the burn today.

Hope to get around 40 miles this week with a weekend long run of 14.

I've signed up for the Mississippi River Marathon on 2/9/19. I ran it last year. It's a well-run race if anyone is interested. Starts in Lake Village, AR, then you run over the river and finish in Greenville, MS.

I got in a wet, cold 5 miler this am. Felt sluggish still from my cold, etc... I am going to need to partake in a bit of cold medicine the morning of the Turkey Day to boost my energy level. I hope I don't get drug tested. I don't want to jeopardize my top 500 placing in the 50-55 age category, LOL.

Did 5k last night in 24:36. By far the fastest time for me. Felt good. Going to take it easy today and tomorrow before the 12k Race Thursday morning.

Considering taking some time off after Thursday.

Taking some unintended time off this week

Had a stomach bug that’s barely let me out of bed

I started a sinus drip last night. Drove to the pool at lunch for an easy 2000 yds and never got out of the car . Decided I'd rather rest. I pretty much end up at the doctor every race I train for from running myself into the ground and not recovering from little things. For instance I feel much better this afternoon, so I'll go to the pool tonight. Will probably feel like crap in the morning.

Have a feeling my training will take a dip this week also. Planning to run tomorrow am and hopefully get a long run in on Saturday or Sunday. Heading out after lunch Thurs for the Saints game and staying the night in N.O. Depending on how the night goes I could possibly be nursing a two day hangover, making Th/Fri/Sat a wash. Hit some weights/core earlier today.

What’s everyone’s opinion on when you begin to “lose it” from taking time off, intended or not. Be it fitness level, physically, etc.

It happens. Just getting busy or eating poorly. It’s whatever for me.

The thing I love most about running is that I know that I’ll have slip ups, times where I just suck for a bit, but I don’t lose my base ever unless I take a couple of months off. I know how to run and get it back in motion.

I could take all of Thanksgiving week off and probably suck next Monday but be back in form before the next week is out.

Did a pretty speedy 10k tonight around my wife’s home town. Pretty much ran the entire town.
