Really no better way to do it unless I want to get up at 4am, and that aint happening with a baby.

During the week I do mid-day runs because of this exact issue. With a 6 year old and a 2 year old I'm up way too late doing bed time routine and up way too early because the 6 year old has to be at school on time... I have no other time. So I feel you on this, it'll be crazy the day I don't have to revolve my running schedule around my kids.

Luckily on the weekends I have two groups that start at 6am - and if I need more milage I'll start early or keep going after. My 5:08am start time yesterday was the earliest I've ever gotten up and going, felt good but the 6hr 40min sleep wasn't the best (though it could have been was worst, both my kids actually slept through the night on Friday / Saturday)

Easy 5 miles on the treadmill. Did an hour of mobility and core workout. Moved the grass with the push mower. Good times.

5.09 @ 8:37 yesterday evening. It was hot. Had some pretty good hills on the front end and back end in the run.

Early morning weather this weekend in Baton Rouge felt nice! I got my first double digit run (10 miles) since January 2019 (WDW marathon). The weather made it feel almost to easy to do it.
I also signed up for my first race since then as well for this upcoming weekend. 10 mile trail run at night this Saturday at Fontainebleau State Park. Goal is to finish under the allowed time.

6 x 800m (Tried to keep them all under 7:00min/mile pace - failed on 1 by .1 second...)

Doing intervals in 90 degree heat sucks

If I end up in hell, it will be being forced to do this for eternity (but additionally through a dark, spider infested swamp of some kind).

Same here. With no target race in mind, I've been doing strictly zone 2 and a tempo on Tuesday. Need to pick a race and get back to VO2 efforts.

3 miles zone 2 at 13:00 pace.

3 miles threshold at 9:20 pace.

Heat and hills were killer. Beers after were amazing.

Half training official starts Monday. Was shooting for 27 flat 5k by Saturday.

Hurricane + extended vacation beers kind wacked me

Did a test run 5k at 9:30 today. Was pretty gassed but had leg day yesterday and I wasn’t really going for it.

We will see Saturday

10:18 2 mile pr!
It was ~90 degrees and humid. I think I would be somewhere between 9:35-9:55 in ideal conditions. Great start to my fall racing season

1 mile is 4:46 but I will smash that next time I time one. 5k is technically 17:17 but my 3 mile pr is 15:51 which is about 50 seconds faster when converted.

I can already tell my biggest hurdle for training this cycle is going to be my 2 year old. Child needs to keep her hands to herself, been sick twice already in 4 week
