My Vo2 Max on my Garmin kicked up to 58 following a recovery week. Hopefully this means I am ready to run some improved times.

I'm heading to Nashville for the Saints game this weekend. I have a 14 mile training run that I want to knock out tomorrow while I'm there. Any locals have any advice on where to do this run? We're staying downtown at Hyatt Place. I was considering either running most of the Rock N Roll half marathon route or just keeping it simple and running up and down the Cumberland Greenway. Traffic is a concern with the RnR route since I'll be running it around 10 AM tomorrow, but there will definitely be better sight seeing than just going up and down the river.

The greenway is great. There’s a park across the river as well that has great paved paths. Shelby bottoms.

13 miles today at 8:45 pace. Fastest half to date. Worked in a mile at 7:45. Really sore today for some reason. Way more so than normal. Looking forward to a recovery run tomorrow. Need some new shoes too.

Has anytime ever just run 13 or do you always throw that extra .1 in there? I was supposed to run 13 last week and couldn’t help myself.

15 miles at 9:37 yesterday (9:39 was goal pace). My average HR was 150. It was a really good run and my longest to date.

I had some soreness in my hips last night, but that was because I was on my feet most of the day. I feel better now. However, I think I am going to skip my easy zone 2 bike ride scheduled for today and rest my legs just in case.

I have a ridiculous run tomorrow. 12 quarter mile sprints (7:16/mi pace) with 1:30 rest intervals. I hope I don't lose count of what number I am on. The rest of the week is not so intense, which I am glad about.

If you have a Garmin watch it’s really easy to setup a workout and it’ll count for you.

With some of the different workouts I have, I can easily spend 20 mins programming a workout into my Garmin.

Did a ladder workout last week, 5,4,3,2,1 plus 3,2,1 with two min recoveries. Each rep progressing paces from HMP to pretty much flat out. That was an absolute pain to program.

JB—how’d it go? Did you hit your goal time for Cajun Cup?

Lots of PRs for the group this weekend! I was inspired by Walter Whites Saturday morning race time which helped me put down a PR 5mi at a night race with 34:08 with a PR 5k thrown in there at 21:11.

3 miles on Monday. Supposed to take it easy, but I ran hard for some reason. Reverse split it:

1. 8:40
2. 8:15
3. 7:40

Got some little tweaks I need to workout. Starting the Knees Over Toes program this week. Will advise.

I’m definitely interested in how that goes.

Good tempo this morning.

2 slow (9:56, 9:58), 3 at 8:13 (7:56, 7:55, 8:03), and 1 slow (9:47).

Got an easy 7 at 9:54 tomorrow.

Hope everyone is gettin' it

I'm winding down into winter hibernation. 3-4 runs per week, not much longer than 8-10 miles (less than 90 minutes) outside per run. Maybe 12 if it's a gorgeous sunny day with no wind. Last couple of runs the temps were in the low 40s. I should plan to get back into the gym and focus on my core so when spring comes I'm right back into it.
