Once I get done with this marathon in January, I am going to do a century ride. I plan to do the century ride in March or April of next year. After that, I'm not sure what I am going to do. I'm considering a 70.3 triathlon, but I'd have to really work on my swimming for that. I'll probably just run another marathon if I like the distance.

I’m definitely going to focus on doing my PT exercises at least 2x/week the next few months. Want to get all that shite in line heading into the spring.

Aubie

maybe I'm off base but if you're able to run half mile repeats at 6:20 pace why in the world are you running WU and CD at easy pace of 9:30. unless you are having to take 5 min breaks b/w these repeats 9:30 just seems way too "easy".

you should be hitting workout that mimics JimB

I was wondering the same to be honest. I have trouble running slower than 9:00/min these days. Form and economy and all that jazz…

KS, I’ve been running my easy mileage at 8:35-8:50/mile. HR for these miles is typically 140-150 bpm. Does this pace make sense to you for my long runs/easy mileage?

Welp, this sucks - they just cancelled the Rock n Roll New Orleans Marathon...

"Our team has been hard at work preparing to host you in the Big Easy this February! After working with city stakeholders and local officials to find the best possible 26.2 miles surrounding New Orleans, we are truly disappointed to announce that the 2022 Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series New Orleans Marathon distance is cancelled. The 13.1, 10k, and 5k distances are still scheduled as planned."

This was going to be my first Full and I'm already 5 weeks into my training. Their options are to do the Half or pick one of the races in other cities. So pissed right now.

Maybe I should just do the Louisiana Marathon in January, but definitely not going to be as prepared. Anyone have any advice?

Check out the Zydeco Marathon in Lafayette. It’s in March, so still plenty of training time for you. I probably wouldn’t rush it trying to do the full on Jan 16th for LA Marathon.

Just rechecked. First 1.5 was at 9:00. Second was at 8:20. Not sure why I had 9:30 in my head.

Don’t get that. If you have a 13.1 route then just have people run it twice. Seems stupid.

You won’t be ready for a January marathon. Either do 13 or find another marathon elsewhere around that time.

saying someone won't be ready in January for a marathon is not really good information or at least the information provided isn't enough to make that judgement. He said he was already 5 weeks into training and has 8 week until race so depending on base fitness level and goal one could easily be ready.

I'm not big on 15+ week training plan for marathon, I feel good with about 10 but that's just my experience.

Idk 3 weeks is a pretty big difference. You’re right I don’t know the fitness level but if it’s his first, I’d assume he would want a proper training cycle

Run group this AM.

6.5 miles at an 8:00 pace. Cool down 3.5 miles at an 8:45 pace. IT band still tight.

17.2 @ 7:15
Felt like work but things seem to be improving.
Hopefully get out tomorrow for 10-12 before heading to the Saints game.
Philly marathon is tomorrow, they should have good weather.

2 weeks out from Daytona 100. I'm not remotely trained so predicting things will go really good and make sub 20hr or its gonna be a walk-fest and struggle to hit the 30 hr time limit.
