Yeah, but it was a lot of mile and two mile repeats, broken tempos, and long runs with tempo and fast finishes. It was a lot of running between 10k and half marathon pace.

add in some shorter interval speed workouts where you’re going closer to 5K pace. Others here can speak more to this and May have recommendations for plans. I can share my team’s workout plan if you’d like

2nd (and last 20 miler) of the cycle. 18 next weekend, then 22 the following before taper. 8:18 pace, about :30 slower than MGP. Did the last 3 @ 8:00. Mother Nature has done us a solid lately. I was tempted to just go for 26.2. Didn’t wanna stop.

Wow. Very impressive.
Got in 7 this AM with the run group. My regular buddies weren’t there so I went with the shorter distance and the pace was a little slower to start. I let some of the older women pace us out and they are more 9:30-10:00. Left them at the one and only water stop and paced 8:30 back. Feels great out there right now.

I’m thinking it may be this. Ran yesterday and had it back this AM. Pain isn’t terrible. Wondering if I should take a week off but I’ve been slacking as it is

Recovery day on the high school track! 6 miles at a 9:15 pace. HR never got above 160. Stopped at mile 3 for a 30 min stretch session. Felt great.

Sounds like things are coming along nicely, Roots.

Checking in for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon. Who here is participating? Looking forward to running an actual race. Heading down on Saturday and staying at the Beau with my wife for two nights (no kids woohoo!). This will be my fourth half and looking to PR at around 1:40. Weather looks perfect.

Don’t wear yourself out at the Beau

Yeeeeah, no way I could do that!
Grooved out 12 @ MP this am. Strayed a bit from my planned workout as I ran it with a friend who is running MGC this weekend.

4 mile warm up. at least that's what they called it. then garage repeats for 15 minutes.
I would just have called that a split workout.
I need to get motivated for my next thing. 5 x 5k Rerun.

Local running group had the first track workout since March yesterday:
12 x 400 with 1 min rest between
Was nice to be back and training on the track in a group setting

5 miles last night. 9min first mile with 3 miles at 8:15min and wrapped it up with a final mile of 8:45min. Felt great.

I felt good about my four miles last night. Pace was fine. Initially I thought about doing more but it was a crisp 29° outside and I didn't want to stay outside for too long without something covering my ears.

I'm bald, and I usually have to take off my beanie after a mile or so unless it's really windy and cold or the temp is below 20.

Usually I don't run with a hat either but if it's in the 20s or below I limit my exposure time. I have curly hair so wearing a hat makes me feel way too hot. I've considered a headband just for the ear coverage.
Today was warmer (low 40s), and did a easy 6 miles. I'm about 30 miles from 1,300 for the year.

I bought my first pair of running tights (NB Impact Run Tight) and used them for the first time this past weekend. They felt awesome and even when it warmed up (~50F) they weren't uncomfortable. Looking forward to the 3 other days a year in Texas I can wear them.

Pretty much a requirement in Kansas. I wear leggings for just about every run from November to March.
