Also...holy god today’s run just sucked balls.

I guess the combination of the fast 5k Tuesday, Mexican for lunch and the heat/humidity killed my legs.

4.2 miles
36:57

Just a slog that was.

Decided to push myself a little today on a 5K, since I am ahead on my miles for the week (3.5 was planned for today), supposed “low” humidity and the Twilight 5K on the horizon for Saturday. I will decide tomorrow if I can set aside time to run it and wanted to set a realistic goal. Initially thought 25 was reasonable but may push for 24 now. Felt great and had a good bit left in the tank.

First run in months. I've been cycling in hopes that it'd be easy on my knee. My legs felt fine, and I breezed through the first mile without checking my pace and I thought I was going easy. I regretted it the second mile and it hurt more than I remember, but I'm hopefully on my way to recovery...I sound like an addict

Good work, man!

I hid this one from the TD Strava group bc I stopped and paused watch while testing out some segments of the Winship 5k course I'm trying to PR w a 20 min time in mid-Oct.

I'm much more an endurance runner, so 20 is gonna be a bitch. I'm also training for my first tri. Probably an olympic. Swam 1100 yards slow today. Felt good. Now to find uncrowded bike routes.

I was really happy with my sub 23 minute 3 miler in 100 degrees then you shat on it.

I think it just doesn't count on the leaderboards. Oh well, if it does it'll average out some weird 14+ min/mile my watch recorded on the treadmill when I was actually about to bust my arse on the thing and die. I hate treadmills, but sticking it on 10.5 and trying to avoid serious bodily injury while slinging buckets of sweat on the old lady next to me can be fun.

Put in 4 easy miles this morning as a primer for my long run tomorrow. Shooting for 13.1 under 2 hours. First time I will have ran a half in over five years. Going to be difficult to sleep tonight thinking about it.

4 ez for me this morning as well. I'm supposed to run long tomorrow, but I have a race that is interfering.

Plan tomorrow is to get up early, run 5 ez and then take a nap... running a 5k race that starts at midnight tomorrow night.

10.2 miles

I don't know about y'all, but after my post-run shower, wiping some of the green gold bond powder on my crotch is absolutely heavenly.

I gold bond like a mofo after summer runs. That sweet gingerly tingle is the stuff dreams are made of.

Started a new topic on the board but wanted to post here as well.

Any tips on running the comite and hooper trails this time of year? Mainly the bug situation.

4 on Tuesday, 4 on Thursday and 9 this morning. BR lakes were getting crowded when I finished up.

The difference in 95% humidity and 70% humidity is surprisingly noticible.

The dear flies are abundant around my house this time of year are. They are the biggest assholes in the insect kingdom. I layer up and drop them as it gets warmer and the flies start to subside. Deet products act as an antiperspirant on my whole body, and raise my body temperatures to uncomfortable levels.

7.5 miles in trails this morning. Went pretty poorly. I’m just not over some junk I’ve had for a few weeks. Run out of energy after about 4 miles anytime I get out there. I would say it’s overuse or exhaustion but I’m taking plenty of rest.
