My running and overall health improved once I added heavy compound lifts

This is what I'm going for. Having backed out of my first 100 miler due to injury. After months off I started heavy lifting and I feel about as healthy as I've felt in a while. Started peppering in runs every few days over the last few weeks and still feeling good.

NOLA 50 is 12 weeks out, so I'll continue to lift until I feel like it's holding me back. 4 weeks out may be a good cut off to back off on weights, but we'll see how it goes.

Didn't know this thread existed, thanks L_G_M
I can never seem to keep the lifting going once my mileage gets to a certain point. Partly due to time, but also the thought it may mess up my ability to get a quality run in.

I've been working on a few lifting goals over the last few months and don't want to abandon it completely to train for a 50 miler.

Time management, like most people, is my biggest obstacle.

Weight training and Ultrarunning

Anyone have experience trying to keep up both. I'm not talking about push ups and and air squats, but heavy lifts. I'm more concerned how to do it from a time management aspect.

My settlement check was mailed 10/15. It is a large check, I still have not received it. It happens!
Down vote for misspelling Geaux! Glad you were the 1st loser though
T mobile offered a full season of mlbtv for free to all 100 million customers. Could this be the reason for the increase?

Good luck this weekend
Pick out 12 exercises (think pull-up, push-up, bar squats, etc).
Perform 500 reps each

93 miles bike
60k row
60 min Plank
500k steps

I fell just short in January

For squats I used 135
Lunges 40#
Deadlift 135
Bench 135
Dips 20#

You decide how much weight. Don't have to be traditional exercises either.
Goal is 3X annual income by age 45.
I've been increasing my 401k contribution by 1% every year for the last 6 years.
Workout 11
90 minute easy

10.5 miles
8:35 /mile

I think my watch knew she was being retired and wanted me to think I have a heart condition. HR was all over the place.

62°
Windy pre dawn run
Workout 10
400's

2 mile WU
7 x 100m :23 each 100m recovery jog

6 x 400m 1:30 - 1:33 each
400m recovery

.5 mile CD

Workout called for
4 x 100m
7 x 400

Pay attention to the details

400's felt good.

85°
Cloudy and somewhat dry
I also decided to go with the Fenix 5 from Jackrabbit

Comes in on Sunday. I'm hoping it does a better job of instant pacing. My polar watch varies wildly.
Workout 9
Tempo

5.75 miles
45 minutes

10 WU
5 @ 7:48
5 @ 7:19
10 @ 6:55
5 @7:19
5 @ 7:46

City Park track

Doubting my goal for sure. Not sure the body can handle speed.
