To be honest, I feel more tired now than when I did run all what I did last year. Amazing how that happens.
Tell me about it. I feel like a slug when I get out of the running routine. Then I get trapped in this cycle of no energy to run and not having energy because I haven't run.

Y'all heard about the Hoka Carbon X Challenge going down this Saturday? It's an event based around their new Carbon X shoe release, where Walmsley and some other Ultra guys are going for 50 mile/100K WR's. Streamed live on Hoka's FB.

Varsity sports in baton rouge could probably hook you up, or louisiana running club in new orleans. Two years is a long time for shoes regardless but especially if you havent been fitted before. A good running store will hook you up with shoes that work for you.

I’d like to throw a book recommendation out there. Been having this one awhile but I just brought it back to the forefront after having my gait analysis a couple weeks ago. The Dr I went to is high on this book and the author, Jay Dicharry (from New Orleans). They both went to UVA together.
It’s a workout, mechanics, posture, injury prevention etc based book. I’ve been doing my Plyo/weight training, LAX balling, etc from it.
Jay has an impressive resume IMO.

Varsity is just down the road, I’ll hit them up soon.

How did that go? You run like the Kenyans run?

Honestly it went better than expected. Really no issues at all with my gait/stride, etc. I was expecting to look like a stiff and clunky mess. He really had nothing to tell me to work on there. Did some Plyo/Jumping exercises and noticed some deficiencies in my hips/balance, which I expected also. Worked the next hour or 2 on some exercises to improve that. Really good visit, as BMoney mentioned, Kasey is all about the running and top notch.

Skipped yesterday and took 3.0 today. Actually got faster than Monday (26:54 compared to 27:14).
First four miler on Saturday before the Derby festivities begin.

Well deserved win there and I'm happy to see the hard work pay off for you.
Equally impressive is how you take time to offer advice and critiques to anyone who asks and works hard regardless of skill level. That is sincerely appreciated by a large group of us.

HB. One week. You ready? I can guarantee that the coarse is tough, it'll be hot, windy, and humid, but the goody bag will be pretty sweet.

Anybody watching the HOKA Project X deal live?
Obviously it's just a huge HOKA commercial.

I’m at kids sports all day so I’ll go watch a replay. Looked pretty cool.
Took an easy week due to a stupid foot injury and just ran the first time since Tuesday. Felt pretty good and opened up at the end. Paced some low 7 miles without even feeling it.
Had to cut it short to go pick up the family. Hate to end those runs when you’re feeling in the zone.

Yep. It seems like every damn run I go on I'm in a hurry to get done for some reason or another. Sucks, especially when feeling top notch.

Yeah. I’ve felt like a fat injured piece of shite all week.
It was about 60 degrees after a downpour all night with 90% humidity... but it was that kind of humidity that actually refreshes you, not zaps your energy. Was cruising the last 2 miles.
I was even wearing my thicc boi squishy Skechers made for recovery. Definitely not made for speed.

Walmsleys form is damn near perfect. Don't wanna give too much away, but this event is cooler than I expected.

Production quality has been surprisingly on point
Need to get out of the house, but I’ve become strangely engrossed in whether or not the two leaders will crash and burn. Pretty sure Walsmley just dropped an F bomb
Am getting a kick of the random passerbys who clearly don’t understand what the frick is going on

No shite huh! Yeah, Walms is done. Got the 50 miler though. Seems like an awfully hilly and hot course/day to attempt WR's. Did you see that 3 legged dog? LMAO.
Apparently he's gotta finish the 100K for the 50 mile WR to stand? I don't understand why?

Are they attempting the WR on an actual course and not on a track?
