Thanks, need to try the boron in the morning. When I took it later in the day I’d have trouble sleeping.

Did an Everlywell test because I've been in a real funk for about a year - tired, poor sleep, hard keeping weight off.

Total test was 274. Seems pretty damn low. I've heard I should take another test after a few weeks of good clean diet and exercise and then try the test in the morning. If its not much higher after that, I've got to look into something.

I'm 40 in June and mood/energy took a real dip around 38, but also coincided with my 3rd child. I exercise semi regularly, but haven't been on a good run in 2023, and I'd say I'm only about 10 lbs overweight, but its stubborn these days.

Any advice on getting right (or supplements) before I go to the clinic is appreciated

I started on it in December. I was in the 200s. At 40 yrs old that's pretty damn low. I was a workoutbeast I my 20s, so I don't know why T has fallen off a cliff for me.

Dr prescribed the gel and had me do double pumps on each shoulder blade. I'm having trouble absorbing it, so I go to the urologist on the 31st to get the T they implant under your skin.

Anyone had the shots v implant? I opted for the implant as it seems like it's a more steady/reliable source of T. Also Dr said he had a patient who was testing low, did the implant, and was in the 800s. Sounded pretty good to me

That sounds pretty amazing to me as well. From all I've read here on the H&F board, most guys here do injections. I haven't heard anyone talk about implants or gels except you, so I'd say you're in the minority with that aspect, but maybe there are other lurkers that do the same. Definitely report back in a few months with something about how you're responding/feeling with your treatments. I'm curious.

Pellets have their own downsides but better than gel

What are some of the downsides? I'm not committed to the pellets, just from talking to my Dr it sounded like a pretty great option.

it can swing like that week to week even day to day, its more of a snap shot than anything.

but stress, overall recovery from a hard workout, alcohol, how much you slept etc etc

I'm 43, not on TRT.
In September my test was measured at 688.
I had worked out that morning (worked out 5:30 to 6:45, blood drawn at 7:45). How much do you think my test level was affected by that workout? I've heard there is a short-term spike in test after lifting, but unclear on what "short-term" means. Someone said 30 minutes.

its an incision every couple months that has a good chance to become infected. also it is absorbed at different rates. So you have little control of the levels you are at. It also can be painful and usually leaves a scar

injections are the way to go.

no way to know. just start trying to monitor it and free test by giving blood first thing in the morning.

777, do you ever get small lumps that you can feel but not see at your injection sites using SubQ? I get them that last 2 days at most and then go away.

I don't get the bruising. Are there any adverse affects to the small temporary lumps if I don't find it that bothersome? I'm with you on the subq, much easier.

None, that swelling is normal. Do you rotate injection sites? You could try injecting slower or warming up the solution a bit prior to injection, but sometimes that does nothing. Injecting slower just comes down to patience, but you aren't injecting large amounts really.

Yes I swap sides for each injection. I typically try to warm up in some water. Dosing 1/2cc x 2 injections per week. Thanks for the info much appreciated.

all that helps a ton with IM but doesnt help much with subq.

there are not adverse effects of the lumps or the bruising so long as they do not hurt.

My family doctor is sending me to my urologist for my Low T issues. Is this normal?
