Yep. Also have a custom 12 week program from greyskull during the teampain class that was designed for me to max the army PT test.

Awesome, I'll check them out. Been kinda slacking since mid summer. Was in great shape but really skinny coming out of the academy.

just got 21 points higher on PT test went from 265 to a 286. my run time improved by roughly 45 seconds and I credit much of that to squating every other day. I would do 135-225 for about 5 sets nothing too heavy every other day. My legs didnt get bigger but my stamina went up and I didnt get the "jello" feel like I have in the past.

also weighted sit ups helped improve my previous by about 10. My new unit slacks at PT and likes to run at 9 min pace on our run days. so a lot of the improvements were on my own

LSD runs have their place in training to build endurance

But if you want to get faster for a PT test sprints are were it’s at.

yep, 100m sprints all out and 200/400 sprints on another day will do wonders for your pt time.

The minimal requirements for the ACFT are a joke. It's going to be difficult to kick out fat/weak bodies.

For example, you need to do ONE leg tuck to pass.

Yeah I’ve been losing weight and doing lots of conditioning to prepare for it. I have no doubt I will be competing against former military or athletes. Honestly, I doubt I will get accepted the first time. I can meet all the physical requirements, but I can’t compete with a Marine. At least not yet.

You can absolutely complete. Friend of a friend is in the current class about to graduate and he was not former military. If you have a college degree you’re in even better shape.

The academy is an absolute bitch though.
