Starting a juice cleanse on Friday. If any of you have done it, what did you use post work out/ protein source? Also, did you experience any headaches or extreme fatigue after exercise?

These trendy “cleanses” don’t do anything except give you the squirts. Try eating better and exercising.

I’m naturally a healthy eater, and very active. Me playing sports/ working out, then eating chicken and broccoli just about every night has gotten pretty dull, health-wise.

I’ve heard people talk about these cleanses for years. Figured I’d give it a shot. Hoping to feel a little more energized and rejuvenated.

Yeah. Just eating good stuff will be better.

I cleansed down to the core in colonoscopy prep and didn't feel much better. I was pooping squirts of tan water by the end, but I've felt much better when eating healthy and exercising.

Better of just drinking coffee and eating pineapples.

Cleanses are made up bullshite pushed by gym bunnies for views and money. Don’t waste your time. Try eating more fruit and getting more sleep at night.

Yea I don't do shite like cleanses or essential oils, try to stick to things proven by science to work.

Good luck with zero fat loss and the squirts though, heard they are to die for.

Explain to me the biochemistry behind your juice cleanse.

What is it cleaning and how?

Ha. Dude - I don’t know shite about biology.

My vegetable consumption consists of a lot of broccoli and carrots. And I eat all white meat. My thought was that maybe I could benefit from more vegetable consumption by drinking juice (because I love juice). I don’t particularly love eating beats, ginger, or kale. But I’ll sure as shite drink it.

Yeah I agree with the other posters that stuff isn't gonna do anything. If you've cut out alcohol and sugar then just restricting calories and sweating more is your best cleanse routine.

Bio and biochem are related, but not the same. And you should do research in relation to nutrition and training. If you want to consume better foods, eat them. You can find ways to incorporate them into other foods if you don’t like them by themselves. All these cleanses are 100% bullshite. They don’t help you lose weight in a healthy way, you lose fiber when you blend food and it’s just another crap product pushed by silicone barbie dolls in super tight spanx trying to whore out for notoriety. For the record, I like whores. Just don’t buy their stupid shite.

You’re probably better off finding a post-baby mom forum on Facebook for such topics

Provided you drink water, your body cleanses itself daily through your liver and kidneys.

All cleanses are bullshite. You'd be better off water fasting.

I think you may want to clarify what’s in your “juice” for these guys. It sounds like most think you’re doing some sort of cayenne pepper, lemon juice, and maple syrup type thing. (Which would be fine for a 72 hour “fast”, I think, like 777 mentioned. I think a 72 hour fast is probably good for everybody a few times a year.) Or doing a V8 type juice “cleanse.” Which like they mention would be pretty pointless. But if you’re blending up fresh, raw, organic vegetables and fruits that you normally wouldn’t consume and making more of a smoothie than a juice, then I say go for it. I would add in some protein powder, though, if you’re gonna continue to lift.

I’m a believer—as most on here probably are too—in your body eventually adjusting to almost any type of workout or diet (way of eating) not a fad) and not being able to take advantage of the benefits of such, so its good to switch it up once you pave hit that plateau. Just be smart and do research. Not huge weightlifting gurus (though they work out), but I’d recommend podcasts by Ben Greenfield and Rhonda Patrick on anti-aging and being your most healthy, energetic self. There’s some really interesting stuff out there based on actual hardcore science.

I love Ben, I really do, but he does a LOT of stuff that definitely isn't backed by science. I do love that he is willing to n=1 pretty much anything.

Rhonda is an actual scientist.

Yet she still says BS or at the very least she confuses the hell out of people.

I like Ben even though he is a quack sometimes because he is willing to guinea pig himself when it comes to the grey market sarms and peptides which I appreciate and respect.
