I am on Day 41 of 75 Hard

Is anyone else on here doing 75 Hard? I forgot my progress pic on day 14 and then again on day 21 so this is my 3rd go at it. Yesterday would've been 75 days had I not forgotten my pics
. I have enjoyed doing this and feel much better. I am down right around 12 lbs and feel like I am hitting a stride. Also going on 8 months sober and can't tell you how much better I feel all around. If you have thought about doing this in the past forget the worry/planning and just get started. You will figure it out as you go and will see many benefits.

The first sentence or the longest one in the paragraph?

I'm considering doing this, but I'm substituting a self-help book for just a book in general.

Good job, dude. It feels good to work hard at something. I don't have any plans to ever do 75 hard (I think it would be counterproductive for me because it would bring out some of my worst tendencies), but in general I think it sounds like a valuable challenge that many people would benefit from taking on. Congrats on the sobriety too.

Heck yeah!! Good for you!!
People get hung up on programs, diets, macros, etc. They’re all good and very important as you progress but finding something early that works and builds consistency is key.
And add on top no booze??
I bet you feel like Superman.

That's awesome man. I've read
4 Hour Work Week
Letter to the American Church
Wild at Heart
Good to Great
and now Reading Andy Frisellas' The Book On Mental Toughness
I would say all of these are in line with Self Help
or are you saying you are just going to read a book in general instead?? If so do non-fiction and that's what the program asks for.

Yeah, this. I generally stick with non-fiction for the most part anyway, so shouldn't be hard.

Thought about doing this since I quit drinking but I work 12 hour shifts so 2 a days is a no go for me. Everything else wouldn’t be a problem

Great job so far. I prefer a consistent 365.

Yep plan is to get to consistent 365. I had let myself go and needed something to get me going.

A buddy of mine did 75 hard before, had to start it over at least once as well. Anything to get going is great. You just have to find what works for you to be consistent.
I'm also 13 months sober, and honestly it is more like 21 months except for a couple of drinks on special occasions. I gave up beer in the fall of 2021, but was still having a glass of bourbon maybe 3 nights a week. Then I quit altogether in April of 2022, but let myself have a couple of beers at a July 4th cookout. Then a drink on vacation at a nice restaurant, then a couple on New Year's eve in 2022 watching bowl games at my dad's house. But since then, not a drop. So I've only had about 5 drinks in almost 2 years. I still get that urge sometimes, and I'm not saying I'll be dry forever, but for now it has been a great way to keep focused and not succumb to using it as a crutch.
My outlet is exercise, and I've set a goal to do something, no matter how little, every day this year. So far I haven't missed a day. I ride about 4 days a week, and am lifting 3-4 days a week. The biggest game changer for me has been consistent with stretching. Even if it is just 5-10 minutes after a workout, it is great.

This is an area where I definitely need to show more commitment instead of treating it like an afterthought.

Have never heard of this, but I’m very interested. 2x45 minute workouts just isn’t feasible for my wife and right now in the stage of life we’re in but could definitely do 1x45 or 1x60. I’m looking (and trying to get her onboard) for something we can do together health and exercise wise and this might be it. Like how they have 10 pages of a nonfiction book too.

so 75 hard is good but you dont have to follow it to a T. for example the 5 min cold shower is useless and in fact prolly stunts progress, in terms of physical changes, more than anything. But the challenge was originally intended to be a toughness challenge and for more of a mental challenge than anything.
if you want to look at something to transform your life and marriage, i suggest the following 10 things for 90 days
1) 60 min of progressive strength training every other day. so 45 sessions during the 90 days
2) 10k steps every day
3) Diet-
Calories- 1750k cals
protein- 1x bodyweight minimum
carbs- no more than 100g daily
4) dinner must be eaten as a family every week night. no phones, no tv, no distractions. kids must be present and everyone must state how their day was and atleast 1 thing they liked about the day
5) daily progress photo, daily weigh in that you track and weekly naval measurement
6) 10 min of praying with your spouse daily
7) 20 min of communication with the spouse while in bed. Must be free of all distractions. If you follow the reading guidelines in 75 hard, this is a great time to discuss those things.
8) date night every 7 days. not optional.
9) 1 time per month, or 3x during the 90 days, you must spend the night away from the kids. I know for many this is difficult but its only 3x for the 90 days
10) physical intimacy 3x per week- it may be hard to get her on board for this but it's important. Also can not be duty sex. Also she cums first. hate to be blunt like that but its important that she sees sex as a reward for her, not as one for you. physical intimacy also doesnt have to be intercourse and may mean as a man you dont get 1, this is about changing her mindset. This is assuming the husband is the higher libido partner. if not, then this needs to be almost switched.

Let's be honest, show of hands for who thought this thread would eventually end up here?

I know I did.
Odds may be long, but I'm still hoping that the Daily Crossfit Thread crosses the threshold and those freaks start spilling the beans about all the insane orgies that take place after Crossfit comps.

Felt weird writing it in this board to be honest.

I might need more than 75 days.
