Your point to cut out junk is valid.

IF you do this....

But saying that fiber is not needed requires you to ignore a lot of evidence to the contrary

You don't need this. That is my point. Its pretty simple and straight to the point. There is no evidence from randomized controlled trials that fiber helps with colon cancer or anything else. It's not 1970 anymore.

The entire point is that fiber helps with satiety which aids in eliminating processed and junk foods. It also reduces post prandial blood sugar spikes keeping blood glucose more stable.

I’m not saying to go drink a glass of Metamucil with your ice cream but if you aren’t carnivore and are going to eat carbs, fiber is absolutely 100% beneficial and there really isn’t a debate to be had

I never said it was needed or not needed.

I asked how much people were getting.

The only thing I’ve proclaimed ITT is that there’s a clear benefit to having fiber.

I don’t need to improve my cardiovascular health via exercise to survive. But there’s a clear benefit to doing so.

I eat a decent amount of fresh vegetables (never out of a can or processed). I add Metamucil Premium every morning to start my day.

Curious in hearing you defend your argument a little bit. I don't have an opinion on this but I have recently started adding psyllium husk supplements because I eat so much meat that my fiber is usually pretty low (10-20g per day). My only real carb sources are rice and potatoes. I do eat some vegetables but not as much as I should. Don't really eat any processed foods. The reason I started taking psyllium husk is just bc my dumps are all over the place. Irregular consistency and irregular timing. If I'm cutting sometimes I won't shite for a few days. Don't know if it's needed or not but figured I'd try it

If something has a “clear benefit” you need it.

I know you aren’t a dumbass so I assume your just being intellectually dishonest

I try to get 20-25 grams a day.
I take a supplement which is just powdered psyllium husk. It gives me @5 grams per serving and I do 1 serving a day.

There's a clear benefit to a lot of things you don't need. But with all of those things you can take it one step further.

There's a clear benefit to eating tomatoes. Lycopene. You don't need tomatoes.

Target is 20-30g per day. I supplement a little with inulin in the morning, but get the rest from oatmeal, beans, etc. The problem is that the all protein people are usually no carb people and, to my knowledge, all fiber sources also come with carbs.
