When I started, half of one chin-up.
Now a year later with no practice, 8-10 full chin-ups.

I’m starting to do more on arm days. Might incorporate pull-ups on back days.

From dead hangs with arms fully extended I can do 20 pretty easily. I’ve never tried going until failure

At 204 and a 400 pound deadlift surely you could do more than one brother

I’m not sure how many reps straight through right now, but I start every back day doing 100 reps of pull ups. Usually this takes 6 sets to complete.

Gun to my head I bet I could do 30 with the last 5 having to cheat just a bit.

One of the worst things I attempt to do. I may get one LOL I've been using the assisted pull-up at gym and can get 5 with 30# of assistance.

What's the best method for getting to where one can do them strictly without assistance?

I used to be able to do about 15 straight in high school. I haven't done them in years so I'm guessing about 5 at most.

Fastest wayto get your strength up and be able to pump out 10 to 15 straight, is to halve your max reps.

You can do 6. Do 3 and rest for 15 minutes and do another 3.No need to go to failure. Or every hour or 2 do 3. Every single day. In 2 weeks you'll see a big difference. There is science behind it that has to do with your nervous system. Look up GTG.

Frequency method or grease the groove like you said.

I’ve got really jacked up shoulders. Bone spurs and arthritis. I could potentially do more but I don’t try to be honest.
