How bad is fruit?

Some may remember my original post about my new weight loss / diet change. Original post here
My weight loss seems to have slowed a bunch but I’m seeing increased muscle definition and gains just from my workouts. (Also trying to increase and tweak these to improve.)
Happy to report I’m working on cutting back on alcohol but been struggling with craving sweets, especially after a meal. I’m curious how bad would it be to add some watermelon, banana or strawberry to my diet. I’ve looked up the nutritional content of them but instead of just looking at the numbers was hoping I could get some clarity on how that will actually affect my weight loss.
Tia for any helpful suggestion.

Just track the calories. But you should be eating fruit. Berries are amazing for you

Nothing wrong with eating fruit. Its much more clean and healthy than processed carbs like bread, noodles, etc.

Get some blackberries blueberries and raspberries.
When I am craving ‘sweets’ I use 1 cup Fage 5% fat Greek yogurt mixed with scoop of chocolate whey isolate. Tastes like pudding and provides protein and healthy fats. You can use 2% or no fat Greek yogurt if you are concerned about ‘calories’.

Thanks. I’ve been meaning to check into the yogurt addition for a smoothie.
I have blueberry bushes that normally overwhelm me. This year the late freeze killed all the berries but I still have at least a gallon from last year in the freezer. Can always add some to a shake

Blueberries at breakfast
Don’t eat fruit randomly at all times of the day. Have a banana before your workout. Boom, done

nobody ever got fat becasue they ate too much watermelon or strawberries or any fruit.
fricking dogma to even suggest that like so many do.
just track calories and protien, eat wtf you want to fill up the rest of the calories.

Eating fruit is a great way to stay full while dieting. A Little Debbie could be 300-400 calories. I’d challenge you to eat 300-400 calories of strawberries in one sitting. Like others said, track the calories.

Eat your fruit and avoid drinking it if you can. I like fruit flavored Greek yogurts. Usually try to buy whichever is on sale at Costco. Eating apples in the morning is the best time to eat them. If you need something else besides fruit, try eating dark chocolate.
Natural sugars in fruit are different than processed sugars, and will metabolize better. If your main goal is weight loss, take in less calories than what you're burning. You can do smoothies with almond/coconut milk instead of regular milk.

People can't hear this enough.

Not bad at all especially if it prevents you from eating sweets. Just eat in moderation bc everything has calories. You will get much more bang for your buck calories wise from fruit though compared to the sweets youd be eating

I’ve found I like the unsweatened cashew milk better than almond. Haven’t had real milk since January. Too many sugars and carbs

craving sweets is a common thing after cutting back on alcohol.
fruits are good but not all fruits are made equal.
watermelon and most melons are generally low calorie and good treats. Some berries like black berries and raspberries are low calories and high fiber so actually pretty filling.
things like bananas might as well be junk food. ok that may be a little harsh on them, lol, but they are fairly high calorie wise compared to some other fruits.
you will need to do a little self research to see where your favorites fall into line.

Fruits have vitamins, minerals, and fiber in addition to natural sugar.
An apple is always filling, as is a banana. I promise those won't put you over the line into fatass territory unless you're eating dozens of them per day.

Any alternatives to normal milk are better regarding calories.

How many calories is a banana? 100? Yeah that’s higher calories but if I ate 3 bananas in one sitting, I’m probably skipping dinner

I read they have a lot more sugar than most fruit. I had a bad habit for a while of waking up at night craving sweets and would eat and apple, pineapple, or an Orange then go back to sleep. I realize taking that amount of sugar in then sleeping wasn’t a great idea.

Look at the glycemic index for each fruit. Your body reacts differently to refined sugars, which are often found in desserts than it does fruit.
It's all about how it effects your blood sugar/insulin levels. The lower the number the less effect on your blood sugar.
