Definitely not gonna hurt your gains as long as you're hitting your minimum macros. But don't lie to yourself about it.
Only thing it'll do is make you a bit fluffier. Mostly aesthetic.

Mentally, Im trying to cut back on processed crap but I just want to make sure if I save 10-15% of my calories for crap I like (bowl of cereal, ice cream cone, etc), then it’s not gonna hurt my gains if I’m hitting protein for the day.
just meet your protein and calorie goals. everything else matters very little in the long run.

I eat 5 meals a day.
Breakfast before work:
either Cream of rice of cream of wheat with a scoop of protein powder mix in, topped with blueberries or strawberries
Snack: Greek Yogurt and a carb. Serving of cereal, pretzels, etc.
Lunch: Chicken/lean beef/lean turkey, rice/sweet potato, veggie
Pre workout: Same as lunch
Intra workout: Amino’s/Karbolyn
Post workout: Shake with 2 scoops protein, and a banana
Before bed: Egg Whites, ezekial bread, whole egg, canadian bacon, half an avocado
Just adjust portion sizes if I want to cut/bulk. Also on days I don’t train, I cut out about 50-100g of carbs

If you're trying to bulk, lean meats and eating clean isn't the answer.
You're trying to gain weight. Get your protein in anyway you can, and start eating pints of ice cream mixed with Nutella.
Go to McDonalds, order a double cheeseburger and McChicken sandwich. Put the McChicken inside the double cheeseburger and eat it. We call that the McGangBang.
Go to a Chinese buffet and eat until you're swollen and your eyes as all squinty like the lady behind the register.
good gawd. dont do this. unless you want to gain a shite ton of fat along with your muscle.

going to have to disagree. get your calories in 500 above maintenance and hit protein. doesnt matter where everything else is coming from but just blindly stuffing your face.....maybe if you are a HS athlete who burns 3k calories a day just in practice.

I'm just eating. I forgot I had the SAMS premier membership. Opens at 8. I went this week and grabbed a rotisserie chicken. Eat half one day, half the other. Or eat half for breakfast, half for lunch, because I'm not huge on reheated chicken.

Yup, eating like that is straight irresponsible for most people. As you said, young kids with ridiculous metabolisms that burn crazy calories can handle it.
Strongmen/heavyweight bodybuilders that walk around at huge body weights can handle it.
Someone that is 5’11” and 160# could never put calories like that to work.

I drink heavy whipping cream. I weigh between 180 - 188 lbs (fluctuates) and when I want to put on weight, I drink heavy whipping cream.

I eat a healthy diet of TRT, 240mg of test per week. Put on 20lbs.
Start with your hormones and blood work.

what are some staples you eat that are high in calories but not complete junk food?
I eat mostly the same (whole food diet), but increase portions and eat higher fat proteins more often.
-almonds/cashews or nut butters
-whole milk with protein shake instead of 2% or water when in deficit
-avocados
-eat a shite ton more fatty beef instead of prioritizing mainly lean meats
-ice cream
track your macros and calories if you want to be serious and avoid putting on excess fat. I never put a limit on protein when bulking, but it usually hits 1.3-1.5g/lb. also supplementing creatine is always helpful, but especially so during a bulk. and lift until near failure where you're squeezing out that last rep.

A pint of ice cream is going to have 102 to 120 grams of sugar add in Nutella and you are looking at around 170 to 200 grams of sugar depending on how much you add. You trying to give this guy diabetes or help him build muscle? I wouldn’t eat that even when I was on 12 iu’s of hGH.

Have you tried whey isolate? I can’t tolerate regular whey protein shakes but the isolate powders are fine.

know about the lean meats and complex carbs
Who cares about complex carbs?
I'm cutting weight and my breakfast shake before my shower is 2 scoops of whey protein. Two scoops of collagen peptides. One scoop of sugarfree pudding mix. 16 oz of water.
To turn it into a bulking shake: add an extra scoop of soyfree protein, add 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Cut the pudding mix. Replace water with whole milk. Add in a teaspoon of dutch processed cocoa.
Cook rice or instant mashed potatoes every day in chicken stock.
If you chop up three cans of albacore with a brick of creamcheese... You can mix it with regular tuna salad fixings. Just the tuna and cream cheese will be over 1200 calories.
