You can get a cheap food scale on Amazon. I've tracked my food long enough that I have an "OK" eye for it now. Whenever I go into a cut, I weigh everything.

PB powder just doesn't cut it for me. I've used it before but I would rather adjust my other meals to account for the peanut butter calories lol

i always measure before cooking
but in the end it doesnt matter, just make sure you are entering correctly or atleast consistently. even if you are entering it wrong, if you are consistent you can adjust
but almost all foods are measured raw when talking macros

I eat approximately 2lbs of meat. I am much more satiated from food than shakes.

Why isn’t rice measured that way? Hell, a cup uncooked is 750 calories vs 200 cooked

it can be and that is how its labeled on the bag. but most things lose volume when cooked, rice is opposite

I measure rice cooked in grams, easier for me
and I try to keep fat low. Carbs are always a much higher percentage and it works well for my body

I make rice in bulk, so I measure how much I cook and then weigh the total after. Easy math to scale it back to an uncooked weight.
If 300g rice cooks up to 900g total, then whatever I weigh out to eat I scale down by a factor of 3. So 180g cooked rice scales back to 60g uncooked.

My answer is truly happiness based: Fat. Because I don’t really enjoy carbs without fat.
The last time I really tracked macros was 2018, and my main lesson learned was the sliding scale between carbs and fat. And I learned I don’t like carbs without butter, cheese, or a fatty hunk of meat beside them.

Strategy and some shake use. Food specifically designed for high protein help
Example of my day
Breakfast
4 eggs 28g
Kodiak oats and Quaker Oats 19g
Post wo shake 50g
6oz turkey, toast, toast, soup 55g
Afternoon snacks
Protein enriched yogurt 25
Protein bar 20
That puts me in the 190-200 range so I kinda do what I want for dinner long as it’s got some protein.
