I’ve been doing OMAD paired with keto to lose weight. Just started an extended fast to help curb sugar cravings. I’m at the 48-hour mark right now. Don’t have a pre-determined end point yet—just feeling things out. Feeling good so far but a little anxious awaiting any side effects.

No but I have been reading up on these water fast. Seems like it would be a good idea for short periods of time to cleanse. But so if these yo-yos claim to be doing it for 21 days, 30 days. That just seems dangerous to me.

I fast on running days, have a protein shake on lifting days. I think that’s my little happy middle ground.

A 48 hour fast seems a bit extreme. Just don’t faint. Or die.

In the fasting world, 48 hours is considered child’s play.

Yea 48 isnt shite compared to what I see some people doing on the groups i am in.

But 48 is max imo you should go as at that point you really start burning as much muscle as fat even with extreme high protein on days that you do eat.

Compare Dr Fung to Dr Phinney. They're in a little duel re longer fasts (over 2 days).

OMAD is enough for me for now. But I like the autophagy research.

Most people do. The less meals you have (especially if keto), though, the less your insulin spikes and the less hungry you get. So fasting actually gets easier the longer you do it.

I don't know if I'd consider skipping breakfast fasting

Looks like he's doing 16:8, which is a type of fasting--albeit a minimal fast.

It’s the very definition of fasting. Breakfast = breaking your fast while sleeping.

So, to not eat breakfast is to continue your fast.

I'll be honest I've lost a step or 2 in the past couple years. But I'm 44.
