I have recently started intermittent fasting and found it to be very beneficial with my weight loss journey. Routine has been water and black coffee in the morning with a lunch hour workout from around noon- 1:00pm. Protein shake with MCT oil after workout and then a low carb/keto friendly dinner around 6:00. Basically fasting from around 6:30pm until 1:00pm the following day.
I have found it nice to have a large but healthy dinner and the protein/mct mix after workouts has been enough to get me satisfied. I have been in ketosis for the majority of the last month and lost around 22 pounds already in the last 5-6 weeks. Started at 266, weighed 244 on Monday morning and strips show I am in pretty heavy ketosis as of yesterday afternoon.
I’m curious how you are able to hit the gym at lunch without eating anything since the night before. I also go to the gym at lunch, and while this IF has been proposed to me, I just don’t see how I’d last at the gym. There have been times in the past that I didn’t eat a good breakfast and had to cut my gym short because I was feeling fatigued. How do you have energy every day without eating anything for 16+ hrs prior?

Do it for a week and you will that your energy level is just fine
Yesterday I did a two hour mountain bike ride with 2500 feet of climbing fasted with no discernible difference

Black coffee will end your fast. Metabolism kicks in to process the caffeine and stuff within the coffee. Fasting is water only
Not when we are talking about fat loss and body comp changes. For all of the health benefits, sure, but it's doesn't change shite in the long run when talking body comp. Stop listening to Dr Patrick, smart lady but hasn't trained people to understand that everything in labdoesnt translate to the field.

When I am in Keto or close to it, my energy is fine. Cheated my arse off this weekend while at the lake, so I am going to fast today, no gym today but hit it tomorrow at lunch. It is not easy to get in the zone but once you are used to it, I find it better than non fasted.

This is the main reasoning for my IF efforts. I find that black coffee with NO additives has not messed with Keto or my weight loss at all.
