Does Diet Coke and Coke Zero make anyone else feel like they have a UTI? Is that just me?
i dont drink them a ton, but i know if i have a lot of caffeine i tend to get like my prostate is swollen and i have to push hard to pee

they didnt and then the study was audited by a third part on top of that.
and im not taking it personally just irks the frick out of me when people, just blow shite off because...muh feelings
think about it logically....zero calorie drink helps you stay more adherent over other zero calorie drink(water)....which one do you think is going to help the most for fat loss? and in turn health?

read the damn data
There's 'data' out there that red meat causes diabetes
The very same people who tell you red meat is the devil will tell you every single artificial flavoring, coloring, preservative, sweetener, etc is a ok for you you Its almost like we are being gaslighted into believing these things so Big Pharma can continue to have a large customer base.
Its total frickery and has nothing to do with my beliefs/thoughts/opinions.
The key(s) to success in fitness and healthy living aren't soda's, ozempic, lucky charms, and peanut butter despite what all the 'studies' say. That's just common sense.

again, read the study, data was audited by third part and there is no study that shows meat causes diabetes

wanna talk about common sense
lets talk about it
the diet soda helps people stay adherent to caloric deficit and less prone to binges of sweets. so inturn they are much more adherent overall which means great fat loss
this isnt some n=1 study. its a cooralation study on behaviors.
and ozempic has tons of health benefits.
quit saying stupid shite then claiming common sense
nobody said that diet soda is more health than water, what the study does say is when looking at a couple hundred people, those that drank 2 diet sodas a day lost more body fat over the course of 52 weeks.
some of yall just make shite up to make yourself feel better then try to claim...its common sense
common sense says...if i can use something that is zero calories to help me be more adherent to the diet...i will lose more body fat.
there is nothting to argue about. its there in black and white.
now go back to the OT and brag about fricking 500+ women.

Think of the amount of absurd 'studies' that have come out in the last 4 years alone. All of which were done in the United States one of the most unhealthiest, fattest, obese, diabetic, sickly, disease ridden countries on planet earth. How did we get to that point? Do you see where I am coming from? Countries that have banned all this shite don't have 'studies' showing anything like we do. It's almost if there is a reason we are and will continue to be one of the most unhealthiest countries on planet earth - because of 'studies' like this. But there's no agenda right?

we are fat because people eat too god damn much and unhealthiest because we are fat af.
diet soda isnt making you fat
this study was very simple
gave everyone a diet to follow for 3 months that was a caloric deficit
then had them try and eat at maintenance(was given to them) for next 9 months
half were told water only and they had to stick to that during the 3 month period for sure(not positive on the other)
other half told to drink 2 diet soda of their choice per day
after 52 weeks, those that drank diet soda lost more.

Finally, I can call my DDP a healthy drink.

I drink 1 of each every day. So far the only downside for me is an incredible tolerance for caffeine. Because I also drink 4 cups of coffee a day

Now just a damn minute, you leave PB out of this

i think this might be the bigger thing
i have cut out all soft drinks right now and all sugar except whats in 2 fairlife protein shakes so its not like im trying to cope or anything like that
its more just the principle.

I’m pretty sure I’m ADHD because caffeine calms me down. That last cup, 12oz cup if I’m honest, is the only buzz I get.

So the American Beverage Association pays for a study and it says what they need it to? I'm shocked.
Its like when the Sugar Research Foundation financed a study on fat being the real problem over sugar.

again what part of the data was audited by 3rd party and they did not have control of the study do you not understand?
what part of this aligns with multiple previous studies?

I'm not saying its not real, I'm just saying when multi-billion dollar companies want something published, it gets done. This could be legit, this could be BS.
What about the studies linking high amounts of artificial sweeteners to strokes?

study was funded by the American Beverage Association, but they were not involved with the actual research. Moreover, the study data were audited by a third-party organisation (Biofortis) at the clinical site to validate their accuracy and integrity.
Not worth beating a dead horse as everyone has mentioned. Skepticism is always going to be here. Multi-million $$$ organization would not put out a "study" that they knew would make them look bad.
quote:
Most prior studies found water and diet sodas have the same effects on fat loss
I guarantee you if I'm drinking diet soda for every water I should've had, I'm going to be a pretty unhealthy individual. Not sure who came up with this garbage.
quote:
The mechanism of the greater fat loss in these studies is almost certainly unrelated to any metabolic effects concerning energy expenditure. Rather, sweeteners can promote diet adherence by satisfying your sweet tooth without all the calories that otherwise often come with this. If sweeteners help you lose fat, which is incredibly healthy, they may even be net healthy for you.
This is a really roundabout way of saying "if you have a diet soda every once in awhile, you won't binge eat on candy and high sugar foods that would satisfy your cravings."
And you know what? That's totally fair. However, to say that diet soda helps you lose weight is deceptive. How about just don't consume sugar that isn't naturally occurring? And even limiting that sugar? ABA won't say that because it's not the answer they want.
Go through all the Health board posts about people replying saying they lost weight/felt better after cutting sugar and alcohol (fermented sugar water carbs) and aren't replacing them with diet drinks. Most weight loss journeys are mental.
Posted on 6/6/24 at 3:51 pm to lsu777
It makes sense it would help with fat loss. The carbonated sweetness of it would give you a feeling of satiation better than water would.

Last summer I was at a conference, and sat in on a session about nutrition. I wish I had a copy of the presentation because it was very good. The guy talking mentioned a story about a guy who went on a twinkie diet, lost 27 pounds, and improved cholesterol along with other aspects of his health.

Just curious but I always heard that Aspartame was the culprit with weight gain - not true?
Posted on 6/6/24 at 4:20 pm to LSUPERMAN
Aspartame is supposedly linked to cancer and neurological diseases.
