Quit drinking

THIS and only this. I had horrible “sleep problems” all throughout college and early adulthood, and I quit drinking about a year and a half ago and have been sleeping like an absolute baby ever since. Same time falling asleep, same time waking up, feel wonderful every morning

I do take Taurine which I feel helps with the quality and depth of my sleep as well, but I had a deficiency from taking huge doses of free form beta alanine so yea.

Most people don’t want to hear it, but you have no idea how bad drinking regularly fricks your brain up. People drink so often and for so long that they forget what “normal” is, it takes about a year to get completely back to normal but it’s so worth it

That's some serious craziness. Have you seen a doc? Scrubbed your sleep habits?

My wife takes Trazadone every night to sleep. When we first started going out I thought she was a druggie, but I've seen her try to go to sleep without it and she is up the entire night. It's crazy.

Hard work

Basically this. Work your arse off so hard you don’t even want to have alcohol. Cold shower and sleep like a baby. Have enough to to sit down and have a beer? Get up and do something hard.

Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland. If you take it every day your peen will shrink.

I like high quality valerian root or CBD for sleep.

Ambien. Basically a miracle drug for me. It seems it was made precisely for me. Just plain good sleep and plenty of it.

Quit drinking, 20k steps a day

I truly believe that if you exercise at least 45 minutes a day, don’t eat processed foods, and drink lots of water, it’s amazing what it will “cure”. Things like reoccurring pains, most headaches, constipation, bad skin, insomnia, etc, will at least be severely reduced if nothing else.

I haven’t slept full through the night for probably 10 years. Melatonin by itself doesn’t do anything for me, nor does that Zquil stuff. The only way I sleep a solid 8 hours is the below cocktail

- 2 xanax
- 2 muscle relaxers
- 3 melatonin (10mg)
- 2 restless leg pulls
- a capful if Zquil

In the IF thread you said you are too nervous to eat in front of other people

Have you considered treating your underlying issue(s)?

I have run the spectrum from Ambien to nothing. The lightest thing I’ve had some success with was Magnesium Glyconate.
