Is it easy? Is there a program? Do I just eat what’s allowed and that’s it?

I did it for about two years. It’s fairly easy after you get over the Keto flu, which is basically your body screaming for carbs/sugars because it’s addicted. Find a program that doesn’t do the whole “fiber subtraction” shite. It’s made up. Go find some videos of Vinnie Tortorich and watch some of his docs. That’s all the program you’ll need.

FYI , I would still be on it if I wasn’t married and had a toddler. It’s a hard diet to follow with a family that’s not also keto.

Use an app like carb manager to track your macros. To figure macros I went to the ketogains reddit. Carbs are a limit, protein as a goal and the rest of your calories from fat.

Are you sure you're ready to be this shredded?

Are you ready for that?

I think I’m going to try Keto/low carb diet soon too. Might give it a shot during lent.

I’ve done it before and really like not feeling hungry all the time.

Keto isn't sustainable long term for most people. If you prioritize whole foods with a lot of protein you can stay in a calorie deficit without being hungry. Protein offers better variety per calorie than fat.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with T2D. After a bunch of research I decided to eat a low glycemic load diet and do strength training. You need to lift weight to maintain muscle while losing weight. Otherwise you'll lose a bunch of muscle and become skinny fat.

I've lost 90lbs. over those 2 years. My T2D is under control without medication. I didn't take any shots. I did it the old fashioned hard way; diet and exercise.

Keto is not easy. You need to keep your total (not net) carb intake under 30g per day to get into and stay in ketosis. You can eat any low carb food you want. That means meat, green vegetables, nuts and berries. It's hard to over consume calories eating that way because you become full. Nuts are the exception. You can over consume nuts and they are high calorie. Use them as a small snack and don't fill up on them.

I currently eat about 50-60g of carbs per day and I rarely if ever reach ketosis. I measure glucose and ketones once per day using a finger stick and strips. The only way I'm able to stay on track is because it's just me and the wife at home and she eats the same foods as I do and doesn't bring junk into to house.

It's not for the weak. If you decide to go down this path I'm more than happy to share food ideas and suggestions.

It's a very strict diet. It's easy to eat dirty keto, but very tough to eat clean (or expensive - think steaks every day).

I lost a ton of weight on it years ago. I should've just counted calories and drank less beer instead. I've kept the weight off with no issue just eyeballing my caloric intake these days and staying active.

I’m a Type 1 since age 11. I eat high fat/protein low carb and have been for the last 18 years. A1Cs run in the 4.5-4.7 range. Would not eat any other way and would not recommend any Diabetic to eat differently, but that is just my opinion.

Do NSNG, not keto. Net carbs is a joke. Also, continuing to use sugar alcohols and artificial sweeteners is counterproductive.

I don’t officially call it keto but I’ve been eating ultra low carb for a year now. I don’t count carbs or anything like that. I don’t do all the dumb shite like bulletproof coffee or “keto Chocolate caramel lava syrup” but just keep it simple with meat & veggies or a good salad. I’ve been very successful with it and keeping carbs away 100% keeps my appetite at bay. I plan to make this permanent.

Just eat real whole foods. Doesn’t matter what it is. Eat beef, chicken, pork, eggs, cheese, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, green beans, broccoli, asparagus etc. prioritize protein. Stop eating processed garbage stop drinking soda stop eating fast food, stop eating junk. Workout and do cardio. This isn’t rocket science. Do the above and you will lose weight, feel better, sleep better, have more energy and can totally recompose your body.

It's easy if you are diligent in learning about it and committing to it. Naysayers say don't do it, not because it's not effective or unhealthy, but because you can't cheat and people miss the junk food they are used to and fall of the wagon. I lost 100lbs in 8.5 months, and after the first few weeks, I felt great, had no desire for sugar or processed foods. Like others have alluded to, eating good food is almost basically eating "keto". You can eat all of the chicken and steak you want, just need to up the good fats like butter and avocados, and cut all the carbs/crap we're used to.

I'm thinking about doing a 2 day fast to get to ketosis. Then hop on extreme low carb. That should speed up the fat burning process.

I tried it once. Bad headaches for me on and off. You will drop weight but it seemed to come back pretty bad/fast when you stop. I’ve gone to just cutting out unnecessary sugars now while still eating some carbs. That seems to work pretty well with overall calorie reductions.

I’m 3 days into carnivore. I’m going to loose 10lbs and then maybe transition to more low carb/keto diet. Down 3lbs already

Probably gonna want to shoot for 15lbs or so. Water weight coming back on after adding carbs back in is real.
