Any recommendations for a home gym?

Looking to get in shape and don’t really have a gym close to me. Budget around $1K or less. Any difference with bands/resistance machines vs weights? Obviously Bowflex pops up everywhere, so I assume it’s the leading brand. What do you guys/gals recommend?
Already have a treadmill.
Edit: something like this not worth it?
Marcy Smith Machine/Cage system/Stack system

The possibilities are infinite. Get equipment you like to use.

That’s the thing, I have no idea where to begin lol. Looking up options, Bowflex and Marcy seem to be popular, but wanted some expertise on if bands/resistance machines last/are as effective as the weight ones. Im new to fitness and just have no idea what I’m looking for if that makes sense.

I’d suggest a bench that does incline and a set of adjustable dumbbells. I have the FID bench from bells of steel and it’s held up perfectly for last 18 months of constant use. Combine with that nuobell 5-80 dbs and you’ll be set for those two items forever.

If you later want to do barbell strength training you’ll still need a bench and dbs and those will last.

That would have been my next purchase. Want to get comfortable without weights first, but might be best to just have a bench ready to go when I transition.

I got an Echelon bike, bench w/ incline/decline, Bowflex adjustable dumbbells. Just added a Jayflex hyperbar.

Looks like most piece together multiple equipments sets. I was thinking a 1-in-all type setup if there’s anything out there.

I did attach a link to something a coworker recommended.

If you are looking to get in shape I would look in to getting kettlebells. Take up less space and a lots of work outs available online for free.

How much space do you have?

Garage (2 car space) is empty. Would still like to park car inside sometimes, so maybe half that.

That does look like a nice setup for the price. I prefer free weights and their versatility.

This is what I did. My brother got some really nice horse mats from Tractor Supply for his.

Dip bars, floor parallettes, rings.

I wouldn’t invest in one machine. There are so many more versatile items you can use.
Here are some ideas:
Kettlebells. You can kick your arse with just one 36lb kettlebell to start. You will eventually want to get a pair of the same weight.
A pull-up bar or rings. If squats are the king of the lower body, I think, pull ups are the king of the upper body.
A ruck sack or weight vest with 20-45lbs. You can add this for hikes, runs, push-ups, pull-ups, dips, etc.
A dip bar or rings (rings are great because you can do pull-ups and dips)
A barbell with 200lbs of weights (see if you can find them used).
I used to have a DIY squat/bench rack made out of two 8 foot 4x4s and two buckets of concrete. Buy a cheap bench.
You get any combination of 2-3 of the above and you can build months of programming.
As someone above said, get something you enjoy. The best equipment is any equipment that you will use.
