I used the safety argument to get a rack with safety straps downstairs. If I start farmers walking 60-70lb dumbbells up and down flights of stairs huffing and puffing, I’m gonna lose my status as the house’s ranking health and safety officer.

It would be badass tho you’re right

I work out in a basement gym so the longest straight stretch is 6 yards. I call it 5 given all the turns you have to do with swinging dbs and so I either walk it 8 or 10x. It’s miserable I wish I could just walk them to a cone or an obvious finish line

I lift in my basement, too, and I can do these loops around my kids’ toys which I walked out takes me ~4 loops to do the 50 yards. When we don’t superset the carries I’ll sometimes go do them in my back yard, but it’s a pain carrying the dumbbells up and down all the stairs.

Did 70s in each hand today, the heaviest I’ve ever gone. Forearms are barking for sure. Same with my grip

Front squats with wrist straps

Check out the link above if you struggled with the bar on front squats.

I really enjoyed todays workout too. Warm up had me sweating a little which felt good going into the workout.
Did 145lbs on the shoulder press which felt heavy but good.

Same. Huffing and puffing on over to the squat rack. Front squats felt great. I have a feeling we will be getting more soon since we did 5 sets of low reps. Sort of like a teaser

How'd everyone enjoy the face-down planks? That was the first time I've ever heard of them, had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to do it. I only have one bench so I had to get creative. Ended up laying cross-ways across my rack using my safety straps.

Glad you called that out. I thought it was a regular plank.

Holy shite. I breezed by the words FACE DOWN and just did regular planks. In my defense, the planks I did were still face down

lol...I was planning on regular Planks, too. Glad I didn't get rid of my old bench yet.

I had one safety strap running across my chest just under my arm pit level, and my shins rested on the other safety strap. I'm just glad no one walked outside and saw me doing them.

I'm glad I read this, it didn't occur to me that a face down plank was something different.

I'm also a day behind again. My work and family life just doesn't allow me a set lifting time. I had to go in to work at midnight til 4, then back to work this morning at 9. The plan is to get in day 11 today, and just get up super early on Saturday to catch back up.

I'm just doing regular planks, I think. I don't think I can pull the face-up planks off with my setup.

Thinking back now, I have several 5 gallon buckets of wood stain in my garage I could have used for my feet and just used my bench. Oh well. I think a regular plank would work just fine.

Really feeling it in my lower back this morning. I guess the deads did it, but it could just be overall fatigue. Getting old sucks.

The heavy rows Monday followed by the strict pullups yesterday has my upper back feeling it. Shouldn't be a problem, but I can tell I worked those lats.

Wondering how the OHP is going to feel.

The lightweight on squats will be welcome even if it is a lot of reps.

I wonder if tomorrow, Friday, or both will be a heavy day on squats.

I think you're right about a heavy day coming, and definitely agree with the poster who said more front squats are coming.

Did 100 lbs on OHP and had my 4 year old sit on my back for pushups and I am feeling all of that. Not a beast like the guy putting up 145!

Best part of that workout was not having to do a lot of reracking between sets! Overall I liked that one a lot, but my shoulders are a bit scuffed up through the T-shirt by my bar. I might front squat in a sweatshirt next time

I agree. Not having to change the weights around was nice.

Tomorrow is not bad. Pause squats and deadlifts.

No cardio.

Big Friday has to be coming!
