Day 2 done.

Seesaw was fun. Last set of 10 I was burning. I rolled through the KB swings with sets of 20.

I do most of them in my Reebok Nanos. When the weights get heavier, I’ll put on my Reebok lifting shoes. Lifting shoes definitely feel awesome. I hated them at first, but after breaking them in and getting used of the higher heel, I really like them.

What’s the benefit of wearing them? I am using Nike Free trainers now and have for the past couple years.

I have always worked out in regular ole running shoes. But the more I read I should be in better shoes for squats.

I just don’t know where to start.

Had to do day 1 today. Tuesday was too crazy around the house to get free. I’ll use the first rest day to catch back up this weekend

The bicep curls catch up to you quick

Just finished day 3. My grip was starting to give out nearing the end of the carries.

I added some calves and abs to the workout

Over all, fairly light workout.

Legs still feeling good

That one went by fast with the carries
Did not like going straight into the 80% squats like that even with a modified warm up I added

The notes on the IG post said to do some build up squat sets before going into the 80% sets. I did 3x5 of empty bar, 95#, and 135# (along with my other typical warm-up stretching and empty bar lifts).

Well crap, I didn't even realize there was a notes on the IG posts in general. Makes sense and good to know going forward. I did some of that anyway - but I just like when the warmups are built into the sets, helps with time.

Ankle support, better mobility due to the elevated heel, better posture.

I only wear them when going heavy. Other than that, I’m wearing old CrossFit shoes Reebok Nanos.

Day 3: woke up and didn’t want to squat. Was definitely sore. But after warming up, 330 wasn’t bad. The farmers carries were the worst part about today’s workout. Last set of rows I wasn’t sure that I was going to be able to hold the bar!

I did Squatober in 2021 and reached a max of 500 lbs. I did it again in 2022 and got 550 lbs. I skipped last year but in my mind I really want to get 600 lbs before I turn 40.

That being said, I decided to jump in on day 1. I quickly remembered why I switched to front squats and stopped doing back squats altogether. My upper body mobility is so poor that I put a ridiculous amount of torque on my elbow/wrists which leads to bad tendinitis and makes it almost impossible to bench. I skipped today because my left arm hurts so bad from the last two.

I think going forward I’m going to do front squats at .8 x the prescribed weight for all sets/reps and just do back squats for the top (heaviest) set. I think I’ll be fine as long as I keep my time with a bar on my back at a minimum.

Last year during Squatober I dealt with left forearm/biceps pain from all of the squats. I already feel it after 3 days so I'm trying to be mindful and put my hands out wide and not be as forceful with my grip to not have it flare up more.

Went to the gym today and did my normal workout. My whole body ached.

Went to do D3 and just didn’t have it in me. Going to do D3 on Sunday morning and give my legs a rest day today.

Respect to everyone that is staying on schedule.

Squat SS went well. Grip started getting a little squirrelly on the carries in SS2. Going from heavy rows straight into the carries was rough. I typically walk in a big circle on the carries. Finally lost it on the last set of carries about 10yds short during SS3.
