You’ve apparently never heard of a place called Pinehurst, huh?

I don’t think it’s stated enough honestly. Our courses are pretty below avg compared to most of the country. On top of that you’re still paying 70 bucks for the most part to play anywhere respectable around here. It’s not just about our landscape. I’ll just take some very nice conditions on a public course that doesn’t cost 100 to play. And yes, many other states have very affordable and ridiculously nice golf courses that are public. We have to be one of and id probably say the worst state for the game of golf. When Mississippi is much better at you than anything worth mentioning then you should be embarrassed.

Looks like it’s not wrong. LA is sandy AF. Weak root structures in dense sod.

I feel bad for you LA baws because y'all like your golf down there but I only saw good looking country club courses when I lived in BR.

Your opinion on what makes good golf turf is as terrible as your overinflated ego “look at me” videos.

The courses might suck but anywhere in the south is good just because you can basically play year round.

LAs soil is just to sandy. Especially in South LA. Hard to keep good lush grass.

You already drop those shrooms, baw?

Then maybe Maine.

Can tell you have NO idea about golf in Maine. Maine has some amazing golf courses.
This is just one of the great holes at Sunday River in Newry, ME. It's awesome. Samoset Resort, Kebo Valley Golf Club, Cape Arundel Golf Club, The Ledges Golf Club, The Links at Outlook, these are just some of them.
I'd play any of these over the best Louisiana has to offer.

I was coming to post this. I'd take year round golf with sub par courses over great courses that are only open 6 months a year. I know that's not the purpose of the ranking, but I like the possibility of playing a round in 60° weather in January.

Central Florida!
The main reason I love it here.

Have you ever BEEN to LA?
From Lafayette south, I would bet there is no sandy soil. NOLA is 6 feet below sea level. No sand there.

Wyoming: Shooting Star

Hey, that's where I work. Pictured is the par 5 15th -- the back tee is one of my favorite spots on the course to sit in my cart and take it all in.

I've seen some impressive wake coming off that pond when the Wyoming winds get whipping.

That's not true.

North Carolina and Georgia have both hosted all three.

re: What is the worst state for golf?
I've only played two courses in Louisiana, City Park in NOLA and that one private course in Boutte.

My biggest complaint is that there's no grass underneath the trees, so there's all these exposed roots. I found it easy to get a no-shot lie outside the fairway.

Plus, sand traps aren't well maintained. I walk at Audubon Park, and even their sand traps don't look great. I bet it's because it's hard to keep sand dry around here.
