What do I need to do to have my divots in front of ball?

I’ve play for over 50 years basically making very little divot and if at all under the ball

Put all of your weight on your left foot and punch your hands towards the ball.
Take 1/2 then 3/4 swings and do not let the club head pass your hands until after contact.
I am not a pro but that’s my mindset when I start hitting the ball fat.

IF you want to make a change, hire a teaching pro.
They can look at your setup and watch you swing.
Some people play fine with little or no divot.
In general, irons are designed to collect the ball before the club strikes the ground. Drivers are designed to collect the ball on the upswing. The longer clubs are almost neutral at impact.
Golf is hard. You don’t have to make dollar bill divots to play well.

You’re a picker. It’s all good. Just hit it straight

Divots are overrated. Focus on solid contact. Some of the best golfers of all time took no or very shallow divots.

Get some foot spray and make in a line on the turf. Practice hitting balls that makes the divot start after the line towards your target. You may have to start placing the ball further back on your stance. Also, make sure to start with half swings where you focus on keeping both arms as straight as possible hitting down on the back of the ball.

Give me a picker's divot any day of the week over my sod cutting divot

Look at a spot 2 inches in front of the ball.

Catch ball first and hit down on it. There are a million ways to get to this result

You probably shouldn't change tbh. I'm assuming you're in your 60s, but making a more impactful swing and creating more stress on wrists and other joints might not be the best idea. And if you're hitting it straight picking it then why change?

Good point. I wrecked my wrist hitting off of hatd pan at Santa Maria. Did some ligament damage that kept me from playing for a few months.

Something is causing your low point to be at or behind the ball. Need to figure out what that reason is. Could be a hundred things.

I find that the “towel behind the ball” drill works well for me. Put a towel down on the mat or grass about a grip length behind the ball. Teach yourself not to collect the towel.
You can also set another ball behind the ball you’re hitting about the same distance away as you would set the towel. Both will give you good feedback when you come in fat without breaking anything.
Concentrate less on hip rotation and more on shifting your hips from your trail side to your forward side. I find that for me opening my stance a little helps because I tend to have my shoulders closed at setup which causes me to spin out on the down swing, which is what causes me to take a divot from right under the ball similar to a bunker shot.

I have fought this for years. I am betting you're doing what I am doing and failing to do what I fail to do. It's all in the hips. And it's not just weight shift. You must get the lead hip back and trail hip close to your rear elbow. One picture to illustrate:
