Pro V's, Callaway Chrome Soft, Taylor Made TP5's. A Bridgestone every now and then.

Playing Z Star XV’s now and they are a pleasure to hit. Kicking myself for not getting in on the BOGO deal earlier this year.

If you have a Steinmart nearby, they sell refurbished or found AAAAA Z Star XV’s for like $1 or $1.25 a ball. Can’t remember exactly what the price was.

Used to play ProV1x

After getting new irons AP3’s I had to change to something with a lower ball flight

Now I play ProV1

Highly recommend everyone read the My Golf Spy 2019 Ball Buyers guide. It’s the most comprehensive, unbiased golf ball test ever conducted.

There are clear winners and losers, and some eye opening insight:

1) Forget about feel. Soft=Slow
2) Some of the Direct-to -consumer balls are really good. Some are dogshit
3) Don’t worry about compression
4) Callaway has some work to do

Pro v1s. I got fitted a while back for the high number pro v1s only so that is what I play.

This made me laugh.

I do find the ProVs aren’t very durable. They’ll have odd scuff marks just from a few normal iron shots. It’s all I play mostly out of habit but also it’s a comfort look. Gave the Calloway’s a try (I forget which one but comparable to ProV) and they were a fine ball just didn’t like the look.

Think I’m going to check out Bridgestone next.

Pro V1s have gotten to expensive. I switched to x-outs of those for a while. But I was trolling eBay and found a good deal on srixon ball. I am trying out the srixon zstar this weekend.

I generally just play the cheap, refurbished balls I get from Wal-Mart. I once bought a 48-pack of used Pro V1s from lostgolfballs.com and those were great.

I used to do the same thing and I played a lot of other balls too. The ball that I play the best is the Taylormade Distance+. They cost a whoppin $11.97 a doz at walmart

If I'm just out playing, I'll play whatever golf balls I've found. If I'm competing its Pro V1. Though i do really like the Taylormade TP5.
