Depending on what’s in front, I usually pull the club for the front of the green distance.

Another reason you are not hitting your 8I 175.

I play with Ping G25 irons. I really don't know if people like Beaver play with less lofted irons.

That def would make a huge difference too of course.

But I guess I'll throw out my list.

D 270
3W 235
5W 225
3H 215
4I 190 (worst club in my bag for some reason, think I always over swing)
5I 180
6I 170
7I 160
8I 150
9I 140
PW 130
52 115
56 100 (I usually use my 52 degree from 50-115 yards, I suck back hitting my 56 full. Only use it for certain chipping situations, it's a Mizuno with way too little bounce, need a new one with more bounce)

Those distances are good enough to get you close to scratch. You are longer than 95% of amateur golfers.

Driver 275
3W 230-250
5W 215-230
4i 200-210
5i 185-195
6i 175-185
7i 165-175
8i 155-165
9i 145-155
PW 125-140
GW 105-120
54 95-105
58 85 and under and I don't really like hitting it 85 unless thats the max distance I want to carry it.

Yep, just need to get to where you play the other 90% of the game exceptionally well all of the time.

Not really...I still average 298 on my driver over the course of a round...Those are just my carry distances. If I have a foreced carry with a driver, I know for sure I can reach over that distance of a bunker or hazard.

And yes I understand that I do not get a lot of roll on my driver...it's florida and the courses are very soft

I'll be home in a few months and put you in your place

Now I don't know my swing speed with my 8I, but I just don't get why yours and other real golfers get so much more distance with certain clubs.

It is a combination of a few variables. Swing speed is just one factor. I do not have any special matrix for hitting greater distances. I'm a stocky build with flexable hips to create lag and power.

My guess is contact. 10-12 hcp golfers tend to have a certain ability to hit it well on the course but not center contact on 90% of their shots. I would start there and see if better contact gets you more distance.

are you using steel or graphite shafts?
are your clubs L/L/L adjusted to your build?
is your swing weight appropriate for your swing speed?
is club age / metal fatigue an issue?

I would get a swing analysis and club analysis to see if you are losing dynamic loft creating shorter shots during your swing.

I actually add loft to my irons as I hit very low shots with standard loft and need more Angle of attack on my approach shots.

That was kinda my point lol. He seems worried about his distance but that's not what's holding his game back.

Driver is a mystery to me, most drives look exactly the same, but most times I only hit it about 240.

Yeah, that number is way off compared to other clubs. You should be hitting it 30 yards further based on other distances. I am sure you have checked shaft issues and loft already. I am far far from a club fitting expert, but something seems very wrong about that number.

So true, however, Dustin Johnson carries a 7 wood.

He hits it about 245.
