I'm looking to get some new wedges. What's everyone's take? Callaway? Volkey? Cleveland? Why?

You really can’t go wrong with any of those. It’s all about what fits your eye best and gives you the most confidence. I recently went with the Callaway Jaws line and love them.

Growing up I always played Callaway. Then I bought a set of Vokey SM5s. Ended up going back to a set of Callaway MD4s. Then back to a set of Vokey SM7s.

Currently playing Taylormade MG2s with the raw faces. I like them a lot

I may be looking for some soon as well. I just got done gapping my current wedges (TM Rocketbladez Tour 47 and 51.5, TM ATV grind 56 and 60), and I have a pretty big gap (18 yards) between my 56 and 51.5, and a pretty small gap (6 yards) between 51.5 and 47.

Do they make 53 degree gap wedges? 52 with a slightly smoother swing might work too if I can get it to feel alright. My other hesitation is I might get new irons this year, and I assume they will be stronger than my current ones, which would impact the wedges.

Also, I'm 6'4". Should I get them extended by 1.5 inches like my other clubs, or is this a no-no for wedges?

Do you need some help?

Cleveland CBX2 are awesome. They feel as good as the other big names but offer some cavity forgiveness.

I’ll only replace mine with new CBX’s

You should probably get fit, especially with your height. Anytime you lengthen a club you’re gonna impact a number of factors which could really mess with your gapping.

I’ve had Vokey, TM, and Cleveland. The TM didn’t have the soft feel that I got out of the other two for me. I bought new Cleveland’s vs Vokeys bc they were $100 vs $150. I find them very close performance wise FOR ME.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I'll have to go hit a few to see which ones feel the best, although testing wedges indoors on a mat doesn't appeal to me. Haha.

I’ve always used Cleveland. Tried a Calloway once and just didn’t look the same.

I think they are all good but I’m just used to Cleveland so I stick with them. Plus they are a little cheaper.

Swingweight is going to be crazy high at that length as wedges have a heavier swingweight to start by rule. I doubt you will be comfortable at standard length but 1” may be enough. You could custom order with a lighter shaft and drill out some material from back of the head to take some weight out though.

Particularly recommend these for gap and sand wedges that you will be taking full swing withs. I have my 50 and 54 in CBX2 and then have a 58 and 60 in the RTX model, one with high bounce, one with low bounce depending on course conditions.
