Yes. He was pissed, and and probably went a bit overboard. No different than a coach or QB undressing a WR or O lineman in football. It happens and you move on, no big deal.

I've kept score for a few rounds at the Zurich years ago.
It's incredible how good these guys are, and they are relying on good information.
The conversation that really opened my eyes went something like this...
Pro: How far is it to the pin?
Caddy: It's 184.
Pro: Is it 184 or 180? You told me last time that it was 184 and I hit it off the back.
Caddy: It's 184.
Pro: Ok. It better be 184.
- Pro hits the ball it lands ~4 yards passed the pin, and it rolls off the back.
Pro: 184 my arse. I told you it was 180. That's the second time that's happened. Now, it might cost me a stroke.
Caddy: I was sure it was 184 from there.
- I imagine most interactions are like that. Poor guy holding the book and the clubs gets no credit and all of the blame.

I thought the first shot on #8 was just an unusually hard bounce and roll out. In my opinion that was a calculated risk and Grellar felt like he was on the safe side. He was unlucky with a huge bounce.
If that ball hits a divot and comes up 40-50 yds short of the cliff he probably would have said "I thought we were going to be aggressive here"
The 2nd shot (3rd shot with penalty) into the green was probably a bad yardage.

Spieth has been a shithead for the last few years
Posted on 6/17/19 at 4:17 pm to okietiger
It sounded like a shithead move at first. But in a followup interview he made the point that “we” agreed on the yardage and he hit the shot as prescribed and in both cases it was the wrong shot because of wrong analysis. He was mad because they were not miss hits.
Think about it, these pros pay their caddies well and they expect accurate info for it.

he seems a little more smug nowadays

I think Greller gave him wrong club/info on tee ball, and Spieth mashed the shot through the green due to anger
50/50 fault here, but the one swinging the clubs gets to put the heat on the one carrying the sticks
Caddies know the drill

Speith is a whiny shithead.

Yep, but some in here will argue that one of the most well liked players on tour is a whiny shithead

I don't know what exactly happened on the 2nd shot, but unless Greller convinced him to do something really different than he'd done earlier in the week off the tee, then Spieth has to take a little blame for hitting his ball off the cliff. He only got to practice that shot for 3-4 days before he hit it in competition.

No bad shot is ever Spieths fault.
......because Spieth is a bitch.

Win a couple majors in ur early 20s tell me how u might act when shite doesn’t go ur way as a competitor. I’m sure his caddy is his boy and they argue some. WGAF

Let me preface this by saying I have terrible eyesight and terrible judgement for distance. But how in the hell, minus yardage markers on the fairway are you going to know the exact precise yardage? I mean its all a guessing game right? I realize 4 yards in your scenario could be a lot for a pro. But the golfers are ridiculously accurate with their shots....

They have yardage books that are extremely detailed, the caddies walk the course each week on Monday/Tuesday detailing distances from certain points other than yardage markers (they can use range finders on practice days too), and they're given precise hole locations each round. They know exactly how far they have on every approach shot that is remotely close to the fairway. 4 yards can be absolutely huge.
