Naw man, you didn’t hear?

Jay really stuck it to the Saudi’s. He’s gonna boss them around with his ‘voting majority.’

And money has no influence.

Oh and then that money doesn’t have influence. That’s prolly my favorite.

Just such a bizarre statement he made. He is either lying about his experience or he does nothing past the initial acquisition. Anyone with any amount of experience would never make the statement that once the initial investment is made the money people have no power or influence. It’s a ridiculous thing to say. And Pride doubled down on it.

pride was on student council and thought he ran the school. That’s why he thinks this PGA board has more say than the money people.

I mean… cmon man

Like, if people I want to do it, that’s great for them, but it’s also hilariously weird.

I think all of us would be making fun of the PGA Tour if they did the exact same thing.

Rumayyan will serve as chairman.

You missed the part where Rumayyan proposed that Tiger & Rory both own their own LIV team & play in up to 10 events.

I read all those rumors of potential agreements.

The takeaway for me is this is absurdly exhausting. Just get these guys on the course together.

Agreed, but it’s naive for some people to think LIV will just go away now.

Rumayyan obviously has a significant interest in LIV golf as a product & wants it to stick around

The concept of LIV is not going away, and it shouldn't go away. Used correctly within the overall world golf schedule, it can be very successful. It cannot be successful as a stand-alone tour with only a handful of top players and a bunch of guys with a foot onto the Champions Tour at open war with the other tours.

But as a handful of events spread throughout the schedule with all of the best players participating, with the shorts and the teams and the 54 holes, it could be awesome.

All of these proposals got rejected. LIV/PIF came into negotiations with a merger of equals idea and got shot down.

They wanted Yasir as head of all operations. Not happening.

They wanted Rory and tiger to join LIV. Not happening.

They wanted LIV players automatically allowed back on PGAT. Not happening.

They wanted retroactive WR points for LIV. Not happening.

They wanted LIV as a guaranteed standalone tour going forward. Not happening.

Also even under these proposals, LIV was going to be in the fall….going up against football…aka might as well not exist.

I know for some reason a lot of this board is super pro LIV, but it’s clear from comparing the initial Saudi side proposals to what was eventually agreed that the Saudi side caved on a lot. It went from a true merger of equals to essentially the pga tour acquiring LIV with the saudis as a minority investor.

You seem to be talking out of your arse as no one knows what the future of this merger will look like.

What we do know is these were proposed by the PIF side & it doesn’t seem like they’ve been agreed to. I wouldn’t say that all of the above are “not gonna happen”.

In the basic agreement that was signed on May 30, none of the aforementioned proposals were included, and it still remains unclear if any of them are still being considered.

Well, that’s not accurate at all

Best case for “LIV” as currently constructed is they push it to the fall. Which at that point is just a slow bleed of when not if it ceases to be relevant at all.

I do think it’s possible the pga tour incorporates a team concept into some of its events but doesn’t call it LIV. Although team golf as LIV does it is an abject failure. If it’s going to work it needs to be sprinkled in, not the central feature of the league.
