The top players will take the same route that Reed took. Sit a year out, finish top 10 in DP tour and regain status on the PGAT. No fines other than a million dollar fine to the DP Tour. Brooks was stupid to pay the 5 million bounty that the tour made him pay.

eh, he had the money to pay the fine, and I think he wanted to get back to playing all his tournaments stateside as quickly as possible after his wife had a miscarriage. I don't think he wanted to frick around playing all his tournaments overseas to try to earn back status in a year when he could get almost full status back immediately.

Looking at that Salesforce banner is the X post gives me the shivers.
I hate that Company and their redundant products.

And has anyone fricked over a “friend” more than Phil fricked Rahm?
Wut
Rahm got a lot of money and PGA will welcome him back with open arms much like Koepka. Same goes for Bryson, cam smith and Hatton.

Hatton will be forced onto DP and the rest will have to pay a massive fine, limited schedule, no participation in the incentive program and no exemption into signature events.

I think they’re going to extract several pounds of flesh from Rahm.
Also if he cares at all about his golf, which he allegedly does a lot, he went to LIV as part of a “Big 3” in golf with Rory and Scottie. And was arguably at the top of that 3 (this was right as Scottie was learning how to putt).
Fast forward 2.5 years and he’s a complete afterthought on the elite stage. Scottie and Rory have both surpassed him and lapped him multiple times. Xander elevated into that upper echelon about Rahm.
Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood have become much more popular European players.

Sounds like Rahm is working on an exit strategy and the pga tour conditions aren’t going to be favorable for him.

I think you’re making quite the leap there. It’s a common sense move to make with the uncertainty of LIV & Ryder Cup coming up next year.
It doesn’t mean Rahm won’t be playing on LIV in 2027. It probably means he won’t immediately run back to the PGA Tour like Koepka… even P Reed is playing on DP Tour until his suspension is up

They will seemingly try to have a 2027 season. We will see how that plays out

what an odd statement in response to players looking for avenues to leave. He makes a long-winded statement without addressing the report at all. He may actually make a great politician

ILANA FINLEY: Maybe this is where we can start to address some of the elephants in the room. There's been
a lot of speculation about players pursuing other options. Are you worried that they're going to leave?
SCOTT O'NEIL: I have so much to say on this topic, and I'm going to keep this short because I'm under direction to.
I will tell you this, one of the beauties of LIV Golf, the beauties, the thing I enjoy most about it, is that we are for golf. We always have been and we always will be. Our players, we commit them to 14 weeks. They come and play. They know exactly the weeks they're expected to play, they show up, and they play.
If another Tour is open for them to play, that's 14 weeks out of 52. That's 38 weeks. So if you want to see the best players in the world playing together more often, no problem, let's do it on the other 38 weeks. Like it's such a special opportunity. I feel like the opportunity, the chance, the gift we've been given here at LIV Golf is that we have players who will travel the world, and that is a gift to the game.
Q. Let's talk about partners and sponsors --
SCOTT O'NEIL: I don't think I answered your question correctly. I apologize. Do I believe that when we have a business plan and we raise money, that this is the place the players will choose? I do. I know these players. I know their caddies. I know their spouses, their girlfriends, partners, I know their kids, and this is a place that golfers want to play. This is a really, really special community, and it's different. In the most important sport in the world, it's also the loneliest sport in the world, and this is a place where you show up like family. So I have a lot of confidence that this is a place players want to be

The 14 weeks out of 52 is such a horseshite argument. It’s 14 weeks that you intentionally put right up against the meat of the pga tour and DP world tour schedule.
If you really meant for the LIV to be co-existing you would’ve set it up in the fall. Most tour players play around 15-20 events in the January-August stretch, not including majors. LIV mandates 14 of those 15-20 events.
Just an incredible intellectually dishonest sentence. As is the fact that LIV has never had to entice anyone to join the league without guaranteed money and the highest purses in the world, with no cuts. Maybe have that happen once before you say people come to LIV for the atmosphere.

Is it?
Patrick Reed played in 32 events last year
David Puig played 25 last year, including 7 DP tour events & only 1 major
Tom McKibbin played 28 events last year including 10 DP Tour events & 2 majors
Tyrell Hatton played 25 events last year including 6 DP Tour events & 4 majors.

They're playing events in Asia and the DPWT, though. Showing how many events they played doesn't really dispute the argument that LIV schedules its season in the meat of the PGAT season
