He said the most important thing to him is he wants to start dubbing his YouTube videos.

Checks out.

He literally didn’t say that was the most important thing but go ahead. I’ll post the full quote for you again

quote:

“I think, from my perspective, I’d love to grow my YouTube channel three times. Maybe even more. I would love to. I’d love to do a bunch of dubbing in different languages, giving the world more reason to watch YouTube. And then I'd love to play tournaments that want me.”

Man what a guy.

He doesn’t even do a remotely decent job of hiding the narcissism.

That whole interview basically says: Man I just want to grow the game. I’m such a good guy, I just want someone to accept me…. But also everybody needs to know what I bring to the table and they should pay me what I think I’m worth… If I don’t get a deal, I’ll just go play golf on the internet and show up to whatever tournament pays me a ridiculous appearance fee/bonus… Oh shucks, I meant to say whatever tournament will let me come.

Playing actual tournament golf was an afterthought to growing his YouTube channel by 3X. And he wants to do that by dubbing his videos.

That’s what he led with when he said what his goals were. And then he’s happy to fit in tournament golf around that if he can do it on his terms

GMAC admits he was full of shite and Jim is even more full of shite for trying to support him

quote:

“I regret a few things I said in the beginning, stuff like growing the game. I should have just said it for what it was: this is good for my bank account, and I’m getting a runway to play the game of golf for as long as I possibly can.”

“I don't know where this is going to go. There’s a lot of players out here that if this goes away, they’ve got nowhere to go. Do they deserve that? Is that their own fault…

Yeah, but even still, GMAC is still like “shame on the media” for calling this out for exactly what it is.

I’ll have so much respect for the first guy that says I took the bag because it was full of cash and it was sitting there open on the table. And then says nothing else about it.

I guess Brooks has already somewhat said it with his actions and accepting the punishment and pathway back without much complaining. So good for him.

You need to go watch his most recent youtube video. He starts talking about being a physicist and then starts mumbling/rambling incoherent thoughts trying to sound smart.

I think what Bryson either doesn't grasp or think presents him with some sort of leverage that doesn't exist is that he can be the most popular golfer on youtube but his potential earnings on an actual tour would dwarf what he would earn as an exclusive youtuber. He can't do what he wants banking on exemptions to majors. Those will run their course sooner rather than later unless he wins another one. And then what? Non PGA Tour events aren't going to pay him an appearance fee. If LIV does indeed fold, Bryson is going to have to do whatever he can to get back on the Tour or his light will burn out quickly. His channel is what it is because he's a pro golfer with an active channel. He doesn't have the personality to carry a youtube channel without being a touring pro, not if he plans on continuing to make the money he is now

There have been guys do that:

Cam Smith

“It was obviously a business decision for one and an offer I couldn’t ignore.”

Henrik Stenson

“Clearly a part of my decision to play in LIV Golf events has been commercially driven.”

Abraham Ancer

“If I take the feelings out of it and just as a businessman, it’s not even a question, it’s an absolute no-brainer.”

Richard Bland:

“Most of my career is behind me now as regards playing at the very highest level. I’m 50-years-old in six months. I’m a realist. I have an opportunity to play these events and secure my future and I’d be pretty foolish to turn that down.”

Harold Varner III:

“It’s simply too good of a financial breakthrough for me to pass by. I know what it means to grow up without much.”

Martin Kaymer:

“I would be lying if I said money wasn’t a motivator. Of course, we’d love to earn a little bit more money in the tournaments that we play. It’s very human.”

I don't begrudge anyone for looking out for their financial interests, but I always get a little chuckle out of dudes that have amassed 7,8,9 figure net worth talking about needing to secure their future.

Brooks, who earned over 45M on the course alone before taking his LIV deal, made this big deal about needing to secure the bag in the face of mounting injuries. I don't shite on him for wanting to earn more money, but don't pass it off like it was going to LIV or wondering if your mortgage payment was going to clear next month.

At least Phil could credibly say that if he didn't take the LIV bag there was a cadre of bookies ready to harm his family.

At this point I'm not even sure Rahm knows why he went to LIV.

I'm sure Bryson will be extra sharp only playing in 3 or 4 tournaments a year while goofing around with the Good Good guys and playing 2 man scrambles from the red tees.

The fall of Bryson needs to be studied

Actually his rise should be. How a complete narcissist a-hole who isn’t nearly as smart as he thinks made a lot of people think he was a nice changed person just by editing YouTube videos

Those quotes aren’t quite honest. Nobody needed it “to secure their future” or anything close to that. Not the top guys

DJ and Brooks were the only ones to me that said the truth which was “frick it I just want more money “

And those two have almost made it a point to never say anything cringey about liv ever. frick brooks refused to ever even where his team logo

Umm, yes. Not even a question. Who put a gun to brooks head and said you can’t wear your team gear?

Guy was at the White House yesterday & still has a legit chance to win a major this year, but we’re talking about “the fall of Bryson”… it’s absurd

Oh. So brooks with his 100s of millions being paid by liv wouldn’t allow him to leave Nike and wear his team gear?

You are a dumbass If brooks wanted to he 100% would have been wearing his team gear. . It meant more to him to stay with Nike because he couldn’t give half a flying frick about team Smash bros
