Couldn't it be argued that "the game" and high level pros are two different things? It's not contradictory to say that LIV has not been good for the fans of golf and the game in general, but it has greatly benefitted the bank accounts of the pros involved.

Sure, same as you can argue “making the tour stronger” isn’t the same as “adding value to the tour”
I’m sure Scottie could go back & say he didn’t mean there are some top guys at LIV that could bring “financial” value to the tour, but that he sees the “value” in it

Keep in mind that Hatton, McKibbin, Meronk, etc had committed to the British Masters next weekend before LIV officially announced Michigan was cancelled
Ton of LIV players also committing to Dunhill Links in recent days including Poulter & Westwood (which may be their first since all the drama?)

The news here is that the announcement of DP Tour reinstating fines for LIV golfers might have been premature. It sounds like that may not happen.
Also - that has been talked about as a long term plan for these LIV teams for a while now. Not surprised Bryson would be the first to do it

Pieters mentioned Ollie Banks is working on it who used to be an executive on DP Tour & is now working for LIV

It's a copy of the European soccer development model. Develop then sell players. Problem is that players are independent agents in the vast majority of the golf world, not assets to a franchise.
They would also be competing against the USGA National Development Program and all the major state association development programs, both of which are going to have a far stronger attraction than a theoretical LIV program will.

LIV golf’s only potential lifeline to survive in any capacity is dependent on them retaining all of their players.
All of the sudden players who are either incredibly invested (Bryson) or have nowhere else to go (Pieters) start doing interviews that they’re now hearing that actually no the DP world tour is probably going to give everyone releases to split time on LIV and DP world tour.
Sure let’s take them at face value. This is the same group of people who six months ago said they could sell minority stakes in individual teams for $500m. And now they’re struggling to get a loan for the entire league in the amount of $250m.

I guess in the interview they could say “yes we owe millions to businesses. Yes we are owed millions. Yes we canceled our last event and pulled 10mil from “final” purse. But the players are ready to share revenue with them!”
