One nugget buried in the LIV bankruptcy documents: BC Partners has requirements for how many players/which players need to sign on to LIV 2.0 in order for them to invest the $300 million — and they are giving LIV a 35-day window to make it happen

quote:

LIV needs signatures from 50% of the players who have claims and those signatures have to amount to 66.7% of the total dollar value of all the player claims. So, basically, LIV can't just sign a bunch of low-value players. Without signing several players of high value — like a DeChambeau or Rahm — LIV might not be able to get to that 66.7% figure..

quote:

Based on everything that we're hearing about player discontent, this seems like quite the uphill battle for LIV. And 35 days is not a lot of time.

You don’t think they already had that figured out?

Clearly they don’t , which is why BC put those parameters in and a deadline for LIV

LIV is the one who filed for bankruptcy, hence starting the clock…

PGA tour players play a tournament in Saudi Arabia every single year.

The Saudi International?
That’s part of the Asian Tour. Not a PGA event.

Okay but if the Saudis kill LIV 2.0, do you like them now?

Jim, explain to me like I'm 5 why the PIF cares about what LIV does now that they are no longer funding the league? I assume it has something to do with money they still owe some players, but I am having a difficult time understanding why they are fighting an agreement between LIV and BC.

There is a $5 billion tax loss that BC Partners wants to "harvest" that is pretty valuable in the financial world. Companies can use this type of loss to offset gains elsewhere. It seems like PIF wants to utilize that.
