Yeah, at a certain point, you can't explain away every defection. Most golfers are pretty boring, but losing 2 of the top 3 American golfers would be a big deal.

It’s a big deal in terms of the quality of player and LIV’s reputation which would help bring more viewers. I don’t think either of those guys draw that many eyeballs as individuals if that makes sense.

Xander and Cantlay don’t draw eyeballs. But they would be a huge get for LIV for legitimacy

However, nothing points to that. LIv is on a nazi level propaganda tour right now. All have fallen in line except for brooks

Gooch made $9.2 million in 2022 on the PGA Tour.
In 2023 so far he has made $38 million with the ability to add another $16 million if he wins this weekend.

I guess that's the life.. Rich and anonymous.

I could see Xander and Cantlay going though. Although, in my opinion, that would not be a huge loss for the tour.

Two top 10 arguably top 5 PGA players going LIV wouldnt be a huge loss?

They aren’t going to LIV. Do I need to bump the Mr.LSU threads where he guaranteed Rahm would be in LIv for the Spain event?

Obvious assumption would be because he's going to LIV. If true this is absolutely massive for LIV. Rahm would absolutely be the biggest player for them to land.

No because I definitely listened to you and you have absolutely convinced me he wasn't going to LIV and joining the Fireballs GC with Sergio Garcia as a co-captain as they play in Valderrama in 2024.

You are also very correct that Hovland, Cantlay, Xander, and Fitzpatrick aren't going to LIV either.

BTW LIV couldn't go after any PGA players until AFTER NOV. 1st.

As for the chatter that the PGA inserted language into the TGL that prohibits any TGL player from signing with LIV this only applies to those PGA players who signed with the TGL post-framework. Rahm sign pre-framework which was his opportunity to bolt.

So, you actually meant Rahm would be at liv for the Spain 2024 event

Never give up hope

Or.. it’s just that he wants to stay closer to his home in Arizona and not spend his time in Florida playing on a bullshite simulator league in January

But.. maybe he wants to stay home even more with his wife and kid.. and get paid more.. with the peace of mind he’ll likely never miss a major with lifetime Masters exemption and other multi year exemptions

You do realize there is a difference between propaganda and advertising...

Rahm played 13 events in 2023 not counting majors or Ryder cup

If he plays LIv, he would play 14 events all over the world

For the top guys, liv is a busier more grueling schedule. Not sure how they “you are home more” myth got started

I’m starting to think Rahm just didn’t want to be a part of this stupid fricking simulator league more than this is a liv play.

Can you blame him? People will lose interest in this very quickly in my opinion.

I feel the same way about TGL that I feel about LIV.

I like watching these guys play high pressure tournament golf. I enjoy seeing guys either rise up or fold under the pressure on Sunday. I don’t want to watch a round of golf that reminds me of playing with my friends, or see these guys blasting balls into a screen.

Nobody watches LlV and nobody will watch TGL except maybe just to see tiger.

You have to have interest first to lose it

It is a novelty. I think folks will check it out. In my opinion they need to play in gym shorts and t-shirts while having an open bar for the players. Make it more like a buddy's get together on a weekend night. Side wagers between the players.
