I heard the HOA was buying the course then I heard it fell through and it is closing in February.

Anyone know?

the HOA is not buying the course. it's a different corporation. the HOA will support the course if a favorable vote is taken later this month. I think it will easily pass. the delay has been because the heirs of one of the owners and the other owner could not come to an agreement as to the purchase price. they now have. if things go as planned, title will pass in march and immediate upgrades will begin. fwiw

I know we're having some infrastructure issues that have to be upgraded and repaired that will help w/ the fairways. other than that I don't know personally the plans and priorities, honestly. just have had convos with the people putting the deal together.

I hope it works out for you guys. It sucks what BREC has done to golf in this area. It could be really good but people expect cheap tax payer funded golf at crappy courses.

Well they suck and are not good for places like the Bluffs. If I had to choose between BREC and the Bluffs. I would choose the Bluffs all day. No BREC course could ever be what the Bluffs could be.

Because they use taxpayer dollars they can lower the prices and put out crap and it doesn’t matter if they lose money. It ruins the economics for golf in our region.

If they are selling I wish Club Corp would buy it.

The flooding and mismanagement has been worse for the bluffs than public golf.

Those people aren't going to pay $50-100 to play golf. The economics of Webb Park and the Bluffs have nothing in common. The total number of golfers has way more to do with it than BREC

Location is a big factor as well. The Bluffs used to be well worth the drive and more expensive green fees. Not anymore.

I figured I would give it a try for $46. On hole 7, stuck behind (2) fivesomes and a threesome, so its painfully slow. The driving range turf looks like the hitting area hasn't been moved for weeks because it was dirt and sand and the range balls were filthy. Through 7 holes the tee boxes have been terrible and the bunkers look like they haven't been worked in weeks. Hole 2 has been converted to a par 4 that is almost driveable and the areas around holes 2 and 3 look like a warzone. Needless to say with the conditions through 7 holes, I won't be back in a while.
