Fix my chipping.

Always the Achilles Heel of my game.

– Shoot Par (73 is my low)
– Make Hole-in-one – ZERO in 45 years of golf :(
– Stay single-digit hdcp. (7.5)
– Big golf trip (Pebble, Pinehurst, or something)
– Play rounds with daughter and son-in-law. She FINALLY took up the game.

I’d like my mediocre to be even more OK.

I’d like to practice one evening a week in short game area.
I’d like to not play a shot that I do not believe in, if I don’t like the shot, stop and get another club.

I’d like to get to a 7 index or below.
Index 11 today.

1. Id like to get my handicap down to 5 or below. Currently at 8.9. I think it’s a lofty goal, but more than attainable. For me the talent is there. I need to practice more.
2. Play every weekend with at least 2 practice sessions minimum.
3. Work on something everyday for 15-30 minutes. Can be putting, can be chipping in the back yard.

Increase swing speed that has decreased over the years.

Average below 30 putts per round
Eliminate OB shots from the tee box

That would probably get me down closer to an 80 average in more serious settings

1) Stretching routine. I'm 52 and get stiffer (no pics) every year. It's starting to affect my swing.

2) Get the feel for my swing BEFORE halfway through the season per usual.

1) lessons-fitting-irons

2) fix my driver

3) shoot 85 or better

4) hit the range more often instead of trying to fix it on the course

My goals are not quite as lofty as others in here but I think this year I’ll finally be able to play more. I’d take a shitty day with some white cans on the course over most other days.

1. Play

I did not swing a club in 2021. I never had time, and anytime I actually had time the weather sucked. It’s the first year since I was 10ish that I didn’t play a round of golf.

It'll also cost you some distance... at least that's my experience. I lost 50 and have to actively work out to hit it the same distance as I use to.

My goals:
1.) play more
2.) Average 30 putts a round.

Currently a 15 HI. Would like to try to push that to 10 and have a round in the single digits above par. Probably lofty because progress has slowed a little bit, but I’ve only really been playing for almost a couple years now. I think what’s happening is I’m understanding the big picture better and now I’m working on the smaller things which take time.

I've experienced the opposite. When I am thinner, I can turn WAY easier and pound the ball. I carry all my weight in my gut. Also, I am working out and getting stronger, so that may be the offsetting factor.

And this is why golf is fun. No two people are alike.

I've lost weight but been working out a bunch and therefore lost mobility. When i was fatter, I couldn't rotate as far, but I had more oomph behind my swing. Now, I am smaller and much stronger, but lack the mobility side. Gonna start doing some YogaX from p90 series here shortly

I should probably do yoga again.

For me, I get my belly out the way and can get closer to the ball which engage my core/back instead of arms.

My only goal is the goal I have had for the last 10 years or so. Shoot an even par 72.

I’m an 8 HCP and usually shoot a handful of rounds of 77-79 each year.. and I came close last year with a career best 74.

1. Shoot in the 80's more than the 100's.
2. Gain 20 yards at least with driver.
3. Have a better pre shot routine instead of grip it & hit it.
4. Get mad less.

4) sell the stuff that’s collecting dust

Damn good idea. I have a set of 690.mb irons that I just don't want to let go of but they've been collecting dust for a while. I rationalize it by saying I wouldn't get much for them so I just keep them in the storage area of the garage. Drivers and hybrids as well. I should do this but I probably won't.
