I'm going to be more than a little surprised if this isn't satire. Is there an actual source on this?

The weird thing is that that account is in the replies of his own tweet treating it as real, which is unusual for satire, which makes me think they might have fallen for a satire post and blasted it out themselves. Who the frick knows at this point

He is a pretty solid source for D&D news

It is possible he knows something, but he can be satirical as well

That is the crux of the problem

When you see that, you can't discount it

That's how bad WotC has become

Meh, while yes, I think we also need to be careful not to go too far down that path. Because of the way our brains work, it's easy to internalize the "well, it could have been true" no differently than what's actually true. Once we do that enough, it becomes almost inevitable that we move from "my opponents are wrong" to "my opponents are stupid/lying/evil", and that's when shite comes off the rails a bit

What I am saying is that you can't immediately discount it, tells you how little faith people have in WotC

And that is a real problem for them

They have a perception problem, at best

It's not just WotC, stories like this ( the museum story is true) are why we need sites like Not The Bee to take the "that must be parody" stories which are actually true and report them.

WotC following that path would be more likely than less likely (see: removing inherent racial alignments, changing "race" to "species", Hadozee, removing specific Magic: The Gathering cards, pushing "Session Zero" discussions and "safety tools" in case someone gets offended during a gaming session, inclusivity hiring, etc).

Wotc also removed any reference to slavery and female objectification… but male objectification remains acceptable.

Stuff like this and all I ever want to ask is, "What do actual Egyptians think?"

Because I'll be frank with you, I seriously doubt they give two shits about it.

I mean, I'm of Irish descent and I don't get mad at the Leprechaun movies, and I cannot think of anyone from Ireland ever being upset about them either.
