Xbox Series 2 Elite

until the bumpers or A button break. I'm still on a Series 1 and haven't gotten a 2 because of all the problems. I want one for my PC but I may just wait for the 3 and see if it's better. Amazing that they haven't fixed whatever manufacturing issues are causing the problems. Literally thousands of people online saying they're on their 4th and 5th replacements because the same parts keep going out.

The QC on all the Elites is pretty bad in general tbh. I had my first Series 1 for almost a year when it started getting very bad stick drift. Got a warranty replacement at Best Buy where the rear paddles wouldnt seat all the way in their slots. Got another replacement and it was EXACT same thing. Last one was good after that. As soon as warranty expired, the down button on the D pad started registering about half the time. Managed to "fix" it by just mashing it 1000x and it seems to be fine now.

I always thought it was fine except for the stick. Imagine one with a GameCube stick. I mean I play N64 games with a GC controller now but again because of the stick.

I never had any of those whacky ones with keypads and stuff, but I never liked Genesis - felt like a store brand SNES.

I recently bought a PS5 controller for certain games on PC and it's the best controller I've ever held. From the pictures I thought I wouldn't like it as much as the dual shock 4 but I was very wrong.

XBox 360 was perfect. And it didn’t feel like cheap plastic crap like the XBox One controller does.

I really liked the Gamecube controller. Every button felt different and was accessible.

I got a Series 1 on day one and just got a Series 2 about a month ago after wearing out the Series 1 finally.

So much potential down the drain because of one fatal flaw - nothing on the right side of the controller to control the camera.

For shooters? XB (even the Duke).
For fighting games? Saturn.
For stuff other than both? Dual Shock.

This was my favorite because you had the ability to adjust the turbo button to any speed you wanted. For games like Track and Field I & II and Super Spike V-Ball this was invaluable. You didn’t have to button mash at all.

I really like the Series 1 over the 2. I have had my series 1 for about 3 years and it hasn't given me any issues.

for nostalgia, genesis

for practicality, ps4 has been most ergonomic and comfortable. ps5 is growing on me.

The way I see it:

The original PS1 dual shock is the grandfather of the modern controller - 4 shoulder buttons, 2 joysticks, 8 primary face buttons (4 right and 4-way dpad).

Basically every contender since that controller has been upgrading that design.

IMO the Switch pro controller is the current best iteration of that design. So GOAT is either the grandfather of modern controllers or the modern best.

I might just be a prisoner of the moment, but the PS5 controller is amazing. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are extremely satisfying. I can't wait to see how more games implement them in the future.
